Need your opinion on this... (shopping on craigslist related)

My DH and I need to buy a new stroller. Ours is just too big and bulky and we are planning a few day trips to the city, zoo, etc. when his mom visits in a few days. I started looking at craigslist and I came across a few Peg Peregos. Okay, so I email a bunch of sellers. Talk to 2. We set up a time to meet, etc. I just got another call from someone. She gave me her address. It's RIGHT NEXT DOOR to the other person I spoke to. I told her that, she says oh yeah, my neighbor is selling hers. So I don't know if this is just a really big coincidence or if it's the same person. I'm so paranoid, I know, and I've never shopped from craigslist. Anyway, I'm not going, my DH is...

We've sold some stuff on craigslist (our old couch and entertainment center)

it could be a coincidence about the neighbor thing...could you go WITH your DH? I always find it better when there are a couple of people there because I'm paranoid as well....I wouldn't let DH show the couch without me or someone else there, and we had them in the garage, not letting them into our house

I don't think it's so odd. One probably suggested it to the other. My neighbor and I have both sold things on craigslist at the same time (although not the same item).

I've bought and sold on craigslist no problem. The only time I went in someone's house (a dresser) DH was with me. But I sold a refrigerator and the buyer had to come in the house. Times like those I am glad I have a big black dog.

I've bought a couple strollers off of Craigslist. One lady wanted to meet outside in front of her house, which I didn't have a problem with because DH was with me. With the other person, since DH wasn't free, I met the seller in a public area. We met in front of a Starbucks at an outdoor plaza in broad daylight. In both cases, everything worked out fine, but I felt better meeting in a neutral location.

If you're not sure about the seller, meet in a public place for piece of mind.
