I know this information would help me & a number of other girls.

Could you please post what hospital you delivered at and what your experience was like. I delivered at LIJ

How was your room? Could you get a private room? - Room was fine. Clean, shared a room and bathroom with 3 other women. the room was a little warm, i slept in my hospital gown cause i was so warm. I was lucky to share my room with 3 other nice women. They were very friendly and no one had a problem with one another.

Were you made to feel comfortable? - Oh absolutely. Anything i wanted, either me or my husband would press the button and we would get the item within a few minutes, whether it be a pillow, tucks pads, diapers, formula. anything. was like a hotel with room service.

How were visiting hours handled? DH was allowed to visit anytime and sleep over if he wanted. Others were let in i believe at 1pm when visiting hours started. They stayed a little past 8pm which honestly i wish the nurses would have kicked them out so i could get some rest, but they didnt. the nurses never had a problem with the amount of people or time.

Were you brought your baby right away? - Right after DS came out, i held him and then they cleaned him up - while this was happening i was being brought to my room, afterward dh and i walked over to the nursery to watch the nurses take care of him. i cant remember how long it was but it wasnt anything that i thought about as being a long time.

Were the nurses helpful? YES VERY!!! I couldnt have gotten through my labor delivery or recovery without them. one actually took me in the bathroom and showed me how to clean myself down there. no shame whatsoever. she told me how to use everything, she was amazing. they made me feel better about going home and taking care of my self. they were all very helpful with breast feeding and not pushy at all.
