**NEW Official August Mommies Thread**

I did well with the Motherhood clothes through Macy's. I look at Zulily daily but am so afraid with the no returns policy. I agree I want mainly dresses too!

I've had pretty good luck with Zulily so far, I just HATE how long it takes to get.

I am wearing a pair of Old Navy jeans today...not loving the fit.

I haven't checked Macy's yet - do they have a separate maternity section?

Hi. I am due 8/10. We are team Chat Icon
Just turned 25 weeks and feeling good. I failed my 1 hr glucose test:( I had gestational diabetes with my first so I opted out of the 3 hour and will just follow diet and test my sugars. Chat Icon
I haven't shopped for summer clothes yet but tried on some regular summer dresses in target in a bigger and they fit so I think I may go back and pick them up.

They do. I have been to both the one in Smithhaven and the one in Commack and did well in both. I also ordered online. It's where I have done the bulk of my shopping so far. All Motherhood / Jessica Simpson branded but they were having good deals. One day I went to Macys and Motherhood and did way better at Macys even though I saw a lot of the same things.

Welcome!! Chat Icon

I'm so jealous of all you Chat Icon girls! Thats so exciting! Do you have a feeling?

So what happens if you fail? Do you have to prick your finger a few times a day to test your blood sugar? And if it gets out of control, they put you on insulin?

I was worried about doing regular dresses...that they may end up too short. But the bigger size definitely helps! Thats a great idea.

I'll have to try there. I haven't wanted to buy TOO many maternity clothes but its looking like I may need to. DH and I had a wake to go to last night and i had NOTHING wake appropriate.
I like Motherhood but I feel like their clothes are always $$$$$$$$$$$ unless you get a good sale.

Everyone at work keeps telling me how large I am ('oh you aren't due until AUGUST?' 'are you sure theres only 1 in there?' 'are you still driving?' 'getting bigger!!!') Chat Icon
So when I went today, I asked if she could tell me ABOUT how big he was...she said she was going to measure me anyway but from my belly said that she didnt think he was a small baby Chat Icon
But in their very scientific way of measuring how big he is, she took a tape measure and measured the size from the top of my belly to the bottom while laying down. From there she said I was measuring at 28w (today I'm 26w5d)
She said that they would do another sono at 34 weeks and see where we are then with his size

People and their comments. I have only gotten one so far but it annoyed me more than I thought it would... "Are you sure you arent farther along than you think?!?"

It's funny... but I feel like time is dragging since I hit the 20 week mark! I keep saying the first 20 weeks go so fast. I was already at 5 when I got my BFP and it wasn't too far to 12 and then to 20 but now it is a looonnngggg stretch til 40!

Also, I am getting tripped up on how many months I am. 25 weeks seems like 6 months to me but when I count to my due date (Aug 23) I still have 3.5 months to go. I know it is the whole weird pregnancy is really 10 months thing but it is making me feel like I have been saying "5-6 months" for a really long time now!

I feel great so it's not like that's the problem. It is more psychological and me being excited to get to this baby! I am quickly losing motivation at work in the process... I want summer and mat leave to be here!

**NEW Official August Mommies Thread**

I know this sounds stupid, but my first baby was a winter baby so I am little thrown off by a summer baby. Are you putting AC in your baby's room? I don't want the room to be too hot but I don't want the room to be too cold either. What kinds of clothes are you planning for those first few weeks? I was thinking just onesies but wondering if I should plan to keep the baby more covered than that at first. I am due Aug 23 so it will just be a few weeks of summer left and I am just trying to plan appropriately. Thoughts?

He's going to be sleeping in our room in a bassinet for awhile, I think we'll just do a fan (even DH will be miserable haha) and see how it goes. I feel like AC will be too cold.

Since its August, I think we'll do a lot of onesies with muslin blankets.

Has anyone picked out their going home outfit yet?

Ok that is what I was thinking too. I am trying to just grab a few neutral onesies/rompers and leave it at that.

As for going home outfit, I just ordered this, but wondering if it is still going to be hot. I was thinking I should at least have one hat and one mittens though I doubt I will use either much. And I thought I could do just the onesie or a plain onesie with the pants. And, I loved those kimono shirts the first week my son was home so I liked having that on hand. And, I just love the Baby Gap line so there's that too. But, I am still looking around too.

But then I start wondering it may be hot for us but not for a brand new baby?

I went for the 2 hour. I dont have high hopes though... I thought I was going to pass out about half an hour after I drank the stuff... I guess I'll just have to wait and see what the doc says when they call...

These are ALL so cute!! i didnt even think of Baby Gap when i've been looking! Are you just guesstimating on size?

I'm there with you though - yeah its warm but for the baby, is it really that warm? If it was up to my MIL, I'd have him bundled in a snowsuit Chat Icon

I feel like we may been safe with a long sleeve onesie, light pants and a muslin blanket...its not that heavy. Plus you know if its warm out, the AC will be on in the car and probably at home.
