New update and some new news
To catch everyone up.
We met with Sloan Kettering on Thursday last week.
They basically confirmed what the other doctors said - stage IV very serious, in his bones and multiple organs, need to start chemo ASAP.
They did a testicular ultrasound to rule that out (it was negative, so it's not testicular, which is what we were hoping for).
Today he had an endoscopy - they basically send a camera down his throat to see if they can see anything.
They were able to see a very large tumor at the top of his stomach, and they can't figure out why it hasn't been showing up on the CT scans or PET scans.
Either way we are still facing an inoperable tumor and Sloan is trying to get us in to chemo in NJ and also looking at some exploratory treatments.
DH is in a lot of pain. He feels it in his bones, he can't sleep or eat and can't help with Logan at all.
I'm basically a single mom right now. I get up, get Logan to daycare, drive home, drive DH to doctor's appointments, keep all the notes, make all the calls for follow-ups, email all our friends and family updates, drive him home, clean the house, pick up Logan, make dinner, play with Logan, give bath, give bottle, put him to bed, make DH something to eat, clean the kitchen from dinner, do some laundry, put clothes away, clean the bathroom, pack for the next day, help DH bathe and rub his back and shoulders until his pain killers kick in, then collapse in bed myself, get up in the morning and do it all over again.
Last night the power went out and the alarm system in the house went off and I had to be the one to get up and fix everything. I take the trash out. I bring the heavy stuff in from the grocery store.
I took him for granted so much. Not only because of the physical stuff, but for the comfort he used to bring me.
I'm all on my own now, holding everything together. And I go back to work on Wednesday, unless we start chemo.
I don't tell you all of this to feel sorry for me, but to remind you to hug your DH's tonight and overlook the small things that they do to annoy you and look at the bug picture of what they bring to your lives.

You are a strong woman and your husband is lucky to have you! I wish your family all the strength in the world. My father's cancer spread to his bones and it's awful. It's so difficult to have this happen to a loved one and I can't image what it is like to be in your shoes. Stay strong and positive. May the chemo work quickly and the side effects be minimal!

Lauren- I cant say enough how sorry I am that this is happening to you and how amazing I think you are.
Its OK not to be able to do it all. I know sometimes its easier to do it, because at least its something you have control over in a world where everwhere else you are powerless. But you can only go like this for so long, let people help you.
I know for a fact there are some ladies that would love to get you laundry or cleaning help.
