Newborn diaper rash with yeast infecton
So DS has a yeast infection, we got nystatin cream for him, but does anyone know how long it takes to clear up. Its been 4 days and parts are better but parts are worse.
TIA

Nystatin never worked for DD's yeast diaper rashes. If it's not cleared by now, you might want to see if you can get a different prescription. Vusion cream always worked but is $$$$$ (wasn't covered by my insurance. Another one that usually works for us is Spectrozol (sp?).

Two things worked for my son:
Lotrimin
or
Mylanta Mix: Mylanta (has to be original - no flavoring and definitely not the mint), triple paste and cornstarch powder. Mix together (I never measured just equal parts eyed of the mylanta and triple paste and some sprinkling of powder to stiffen the mixture up)

Our Ped gave us a great big sample tube of Vusion and it worked wonders fast ( 24 hours) .
Maybe you can run and pick it up and not have another whole visit.

Re: Newborn diaper rash with yeast infecton
Happened to my newborn DS and the ped told us to put monostat on it, then triple paste. It was the only thing that worked and it still took about another week to clear up after that.
