Re: Newborn mommies check in!!!

Wow, I can't believe how many newborns are sleeping so well. I have to admit it depresses me a little. I think my DS hates his crib. He cries the second he gets put down there. In the swing or propped on the boppy he sleeps great, but I would really like to get him into the crib.

My DS is 5 weeks old. I think around 10 lbs although we don't see the doctor again until next week. He's been pretty fussy so far but is just starting to respond to our voices and smile a little so I'm thinking that we're starting to perk up a bit. I remember 6 weeks being a turning point in fussiness for my first DS as well. We EBF so I don't know how much he's eating although I think it is a lot. He loves to eat. He sleeps a lot during the day but not on any kind of schedule. At night he is sporadic, last night was good, he went down around 8:30 up at 12:30 and 5, but it takes so long to get him down after every feeding. He's usually up for an hour or more. Other night's he has been up every 2-3 hours. I'm looking forward to a more consistent routine. It's only been 2 years but I forgot how tough the newborn stage can be. I'm much better with the toddler routine.

Re: Newborn mommies check in!!!

DD is 8 1/2 weeks old and finally starting to sleep better. The last few nights she is exhausted by 8 pm so we put her to bed, wake her up for an 11 pm feeding and then she sleeps till 5 or 6 am. Of course this can all change tomorrow but I'm hoping not! She was extremely fussy up till 6 weeks but after that really changed. She's pretty happy now unless she's tired or hungry. We go to the dr on Wed for shots but I'm guessing she's a little over 11 pounds. She had a bout with bronchiolitis last week and is getting better but is still congested. She is loving her swing thank goodness and we moved her to her crib almost a week ago and she really likes it. And she loves her mobile too.
