Nighttime potty training...how do you know its time???

Ok, so DS is pretty much fully trained during the day and for naps for about 2 weeks now. He took to it pretty well and loves the whole potty thing.

So with that said, I put him on the potty right before I put on the diaper before bedtime....and then as soon as he wakes up, we take off the diaper and he goes on the potty and then underpants.

So here we are on night #2 of completely dry nighttime diapers...I am 6.5 months preggos and not sure if I should try a nighttime with just underpants...Is it too soon?

How long after they were day trained did your LOs become nighttime trained?

DS will be 3 on 1/18.

We kept Kaydyn in pull ups overnight for about a month. She wasn't waking up dry every morning so we used pull ups. Once she had a streak of waking up dry about 4/5 days we decided to go to just underwear. She's had 1 accident but she woke up to pee, but just didn't make it in time.

We just went for it after she was accident-free during the day for about a week. No pull-ups, just underpants. It worked out really well and she had very few accidents in her sleep.

Im wondering all the same as you... DS will be 3 on 1/22 -I bought cheap diapers for overnight or we use pull-ups...

he has been great and actually wakes up to pee in the middle of the night, when needed..


Im afraid that once I only have underwear, he will have an accident and the whole changing sheets in the middle of the night will kill us..

I'll be honest. I kept DD is pull-ups for a while. I just didn't want to deal with changing the sheets and the whole bit. I did the same as you. Put her on the toilet before bed. And then right when she wakes up.

I stopped the pull-ups once she was waking up EVERY morning dry.
