Which lens is good for the Nikon D40X. We would like to get a better lens than the one that it came with. Any recommendations?

My "big" purchase will be the 18-200 VR lense. That was too much to buy at the same time as the camera (I did not want to shock DH!!!). Maybe within 1-2 years.

I agree with the 18-200 VR lens.
I got the 55-200 VR as a cheaper option and I regret it now. It's a great lens, but I need something that gets a whole range in one lens.

ITA. Wish I'd just gotten the 18-200, I feel like I'm constantly switching lenses.
