NK Cells

Hi ladies.

I'm just wondering if anyone has experience with NK cells.

I'll try to make this as short as possible!

I started seeing Dr. Kofinas at 9 weeks and he found that I had MTHFR Gene Polymorphism - Homozygous, PAI-1 Gene Polymorphism - Heterozygous and ACE Gene Mutation - Homozygous. He put me on Lovenox twice a day, Metanyx, baby aspirin, Eskimo-3 fish oil, N-Acetyl-Cysteine, Pearl IC, Gentle Iron, Calcium and Vitamin D.

I went back last week and the ultrasound showed that my placenta is healing but it's not as healed as Dr. K would like it to be at this point. He said that one of my numbers regarding my placenta was low and suggested I do a blood test for NK cells which I just found out came back positive. I'm going to be taking Prenisone and doing an intralipid infusion every 2 weeks starting next week.

Anyone have any feed back with this condition? I'm super nervous and hoping that we found it early enough to correct it.

I had the same thing and did they same treatment as you. Mine corrected itself with the treatment. I only had to have 4 infusions.

I also went to Kofinas and tested positive for the NK killer cells. I had the intralipid infusion and the prendisone. The infusion is easy, no big deal. A nurse comes to the house for two hours, easy. I didn't like the prendisone, I was up at 4AM every night but it wasn't that bad during the day. I wasn't running around like a maniac on steroids. I have the same thing and see Dr. Kofinas as well. I'm on all the same supplements plus I took prednisone and did the intralipid infusions. My placenta and blood flow improved significantly with the treatments! Dr. Kofinas is amazing!

Same here. Prednisone til maybe 14 or 16 weeks and intralipids til 20 weeks. My placenta was ok after that so I'm done now.
