No more triplets... but identical twins right on target

So, I had my first appointment with my obgyn today after being released by my RE. My last sono was 9 days ago and baby c was a little behind. Today, baby c was measuring the same size as the last sono and no heartbeat. Babies a and b are doing great, though... right on target and strong heartbeats (actually, identical heart rates). I am sad, of course. I was really scared, though, about the prospect of carrying three babies and the possible health issues they may have. My doc is wonderful and explained the risks we have to deal with, but seemed optimistic. He was also happy to see that although babies a and b are in the same outer sac, they each have their own amniotic sac. This means that they are identical, but won't have issues with getting tangled up. That was a relief to hear (and see... it was like they were in their own little bubbles).

I could still use some Chat Icon that baby c absorbs into my body without complications and that babies a and b continue to grow well.

Thanks again for all the well-wishes. I can't wait until this really sinks in and I have some real questions for all of you experts! Chat Icon

Oh, what mixed emotions you must be having. I am so sorry Chat Icon for your loss. Many prayers that your body physically absorbs the loss Chat Icon Chat Icon. My high risk OB did tell me that multiples of triplets and more are exponentially riskier than twins for both momma and babies. Chat Icon

for me Baby C absorbed into my body , but it was still so sad.. that one was baby B's identical twin. so i had fraternal twins.
regardless its not easy . so hang in there and just take care of yourself!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon The same thing happened to me. The third baby was fine - heartbeat, size, everything. Then, I think it was around 10 or 11 weeks I went for a sono and the heartbeat stopped. Chat Icon No idea why. I decided to do the CVS testing to make sure the other babies were ok and they were.

I know it's for the best because I started having pre-term contractions around 30 weeks that almost didn't stop. I delivered at 35 weeks. If there were 3, I don't know if I would have made it that long.

Re: No more triplets... but identical twins right on target

Thanks again, ladies. I appreciate your support and kind words, so much.

I had a rough couple of days. I was in the ER and then had to stay over at the hospital. Thankfully, the babies are doing great. It seems like I am still dealing with issues related to the hyperstimulation from IVF. Nothing's ever easy! But, with all of these issues to worry about, I feel like my first trimester is flying by. Only a few more weeks before I feel like I can tell the world!

Thanks, again!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
