I have it. It hurt for the few seconds it takes to pierce but that's it.

I dont know if you would believe my friend did it for me when I was 16! And...I hid from my mom for a year taking it out nightly! THANK GOODNESS...I didnt get am infection...so yes, it hurt!
ETS...maybe it wont be bad if you get it done proffesionally.

I got mine 7 years ago and I've never had a problem, as long as you make sure to clean it exactly as directed.

Just don't get a round pearl stud. I knew someone in college that had one. It looked like a huge zit!

I had one in college and my stepdaughter has one - go to a piercing studio and only use a needle - NEVER a gun - that is very bad to do with a gun!!!!
I had a tiny little stud, and my stepdaughter wears a stud so tiny you can hardly see it! It looks cool!!!

If it is done by a good piercer it should not hurt for more than a second. When I had my first one done, the piercer hit a nerve & my eye teared a bit. My second one I did not even feel it. I took it out for a corporate job, but I would love to get one again once DS is out of his grabbing stage.

It hurts less than getting your ears pierced. I took mine out years ago. My friend did it when I was 14.

I had it. It hurt for a second or two. The FUNNIEST thing about when I got mine done was DH did it--(he works p/t in a tattoo shop) and he'd get w/i a millimeter of touching me and I'd say "Wait!" I did that about 5-6 times. He finally got fed up and said "Forget it" I then BEGGED him to do it. I let him do it. It was fine!
**Make sure you clean it AND, it truely takes upto 1 yr to heal. Also, dont be afraid when/if a small pimple like bump forms by the piercing. That happens as part of the healing.--this was all told to me by one of the guys who owns the shop-he and his wife have had their noses pierced for years**

I agree with this!! A gun CAN be used, but it's NOT recommended. DH used a needle on me.

If you get it done with a needle used by a proffesional it really shouldn't hurt that much maybe a secod or too.
I got a few new holes in my ears as well as my eyebrow at Utopia in Hicksville over the last few years and never had a problem.
p.s.- my eyebrow hurt for all of about 10 seconds.

I completely agree with this - make SURE they use a needle and not the gun. The gun can traumatize the cartiledge and you could get a bump and it's more easily infected.
I got mine in 2000 and I wear a very small diamond stud in it. At work it took some people a couple of YEARS to realize I had it!!! My DH loves it. I think it's cute 
ETA: I was SOOOOOOOO scared about the pain, but HONESTLY it did not hurt! Just a little pinch and then it just kinda felt hot, like a little sting. That it. Make sure you clean it really well.

I have mine done.. and actually have gotten it done TWICE..
I got it when I was about 16 and my mom freaked out.. my dad actually ATTACKED me and tried to rip it out of my nose  Needless to say.. I took it out.. but they told me I could get it re-done when I was 18 (I guess they didn't think I'd still want it ).. So I did.. again.. and I still have it today.. it's very small and cute.. and I snicker inside when their friends tell me how much they like it
In terms of pain.. it's not so bad.. or else I wouldn't have done it more than once.. but one thing I'm going to say.. not to scare you is, the first time they must have hit a vein or something and my nose started POURING blood.. it looked like I had been shot in the face.. it was going into my mouth and everything.. but it was more scary to see than it was actually painful

I feel teh same way now. I got mine done when I was FIRST PG, and didn't even know it! I ended up taking it out after about 4-5 mos b/c I was afraid of an infection while being PG. I think about getting it again, but 1-afraid DS will grab it and 2-afraid I will look silly with it at this age (I am 33)
