not so great doc visit today
i am now 34 weeks and went to the doctor for a sono and exam.. the sono showed cervical funnelling and on exam my doc said the best case scenerio for me is if my cervix that is left is firm and closed.. but when he examined me it wasn't .. it is very soft and fingertip dilated.. and i'm losing the mucous plug. my doc put me on bedrest and says he hopes i make it one more week :(

At 34 weeks I was 90% effaced and about 1-2cm dilated. I was admitted into L&D for a night w/ contractions every 5 minutes. Then they just stopped on their own - I was put on bedrest and I did not really progress anymore until 38 weeks when I was induced - so there is hope. Everyone at the hospital told me that I would go within the week and I held on for 4.

Listen my cervix has been funneling for weeks, and is short, but still closed. I am still here going strong. If for some reason ur baby decided to come now, at 34 weeks he would be totally fine. He might have to stay in the NICU a few days but he would be perfectly fine. I just hope i can get to 34 weeks.

Just remember 34 weeks is good...35 is even better. So no worries, if I were you I would do NOTHING but lay on my back. Prayers for you!
