Which is why I am getting involved in helping to decrease the needs for abortion (through education) as opposed to walking around picketing and screaming that it is murder and scaring people with horrifying images. I think that is the WRONG approach and believe me..I live in DC and I see people walking around with images of aborted fetuses. It turns my stomach, makes me sick and it is not the route to go...
this only does good, no matter pro-life or pro-choice!

agreed... Education is very important and i think many people forget all the good work that MOST pro-lifers do. yes, you have the overzealous ones at clinics with the scare tactics, but organizations like Birthright, Rachel's Vineyard, the catholic Church... they do so many good things to help those in crisis pregnancies, but of course none of that is ever shown in the media, because God forbid people could think that pro-lifers mean well and want to help.

Can there be an "on the fence" option?
I don't believe in abortion unless there is an extenuating circumstance surrounding it.
It's terrible that some people in this country use abortion as birthcontrol.

I am pro-choice. Until you can walk a mile in someone else's shoes I don't think you can make that kind of decision for them.

it's a very personal decision that any woman should be able to make HERSELF and no goverment should dictate what she should do that instance.

ITA with this.
I lived in a part of VA where schools taught Abstinence only programs. It was also an area with very high rates of teen pregnancy and abortion. Education is the only way to lower the occurrence of abortion.

pro-choice but like many Im not anti-life or pro-death/killing of babies.
I do believe that there are certain circumstances that would be better off with the right to choose.

I don't get how people can change their views
If you are pro-choice- but become a mom and then say you are pro-life- wouldn't that mean you were pro-life the whole time?
This is just my opinion, but ask anyone on the pregnancy board and I'm sure 9 out of 10 people will tell you they felt an instant connection to their babies as soon as they got their BFP. Women who are trying to get pregnant dont think of their babies as "tissue" or "products of conception" they think of them as their son or daughter, they have nicknames for them. I think thats the reason why many women "change their views" on the abortion issue.
Absolutely! My baby became a baby the instant I got my positive test.
Right- I understand and respect that. BUT for those who were pro choice BEFORE TTC-and Pro-life after- would you have made the choice to NOT continue a pregnancy that was not planned nor wanted (meaning- you are not ready) when you were, say, 17?
I'm really just curious- no one has to pay me any attention or answer.
I'm pro choice, and I am a mother and my opinion didn't change after I had DS. I love him more than anything, and when I got pregnant, I was ready to have a baby. If anything, having a child made me more pro choice (do NOT take that the wrong way) because I realized how hard it would be under other circumstances.
