Re: Not worth it to work?
Also, if anyone wants their head to spin with Hazels excessive prattling, search for anything Holbrook related. If someone farts at Mama Lombardis, she's posting about it. That, or when Homerun Burgers was gonna open

Thank you ladies for this (and especially to you Jax430) I know that some people are ignorant jack azzes, and usually I ignore them, but this one got to me. Thankfully when I got home, I got to feed ds his last bottle before he went to sleep, and all the nonsense I read here went completely out of my head as soon as I felt his little head resting on my shoulder
moments like that make it all worth it..
This made me

exactly I seriously cant with these types of statements. Unreal Nothing like a good ol' slap in the face when you're trying to do what's best for YOUR family.
Ok seriously? I didn't read every comment on here because the thread is too long i just answered the question, i didn't mean it like that. DH and i just decided that it wasn't worth sending our child to daycare when i could stay home and take care of her myself and have the one on one with me and at out home. That is just what WE felt was best for our family. That's it, that was all i meant. Didn't realize i had to watch every word i said. The hours i would work, i would never get to see my child if we did daycare. I didn't mean it like that. Now i remember why i rarely post on LIF anymore. Made my night a little crappier.
I’m not even going to go back and forth with you on this. I responded to YOUR words which I found offensive. If you didn’t mean it like that then so be it. And yes when it comes to such a touchy subject that hits a nerve with many people then yes unfortunately you do have to watch every word you say. That is the nature of a public forum.

Re: Not worth it to work?
My mom was a FTWM, I had a nanny growing up. My mom picked my brother and I up from her house at 530 every night. We were so excited to see her when she came through the door. My mom worked very hard, and she raised us, but I was also raised by my nanny, and my dad who worked 2 jobs.
3 PEOPLE RAISED ME AND THEY ALL LOVED ME, and I have very fond memories of all
I am a SAHM, never thought I would be, said I would go back to work until DD was 3 months old, then I realized I couldn't leave her with someone else. DH was all for me being a SAHM since we were dating, but it was my choice.
I am giving up more than 18k a year to be home with her, DH works a lot of OT, but he doesn't mind because he likes that I am home with her.
It comes down to what YOU want for your family. Maybe 18k a year is enough for some to work, maybe it's not like in my case.
BUT
DO NOT JUDGE SOMEONE ELSE BECAUSE OF THEIR OWN PERSONAL PREFERENCE
YOU DECIDE HOW YOU WANT TO LIVE YOUR OWN LIFE !

Hazel eyes is obviously a very sad, pathetic individual.

She seriously has no joy in her life...

She is an invalid user now........
I am terrible at figuring out posters who make new names but in this case when she resurfaces I think I will have no problem spotting her

Re: Not worth it to work?
what gets me the most, on message boards and In real life is when there's no growth. There is no "you know, I didn't it see it that way and now that you shared your feeling or experience, I can see there's another side and I am sorry for offending you."
I can't stand anyone who is so stubborn and can't deviate from his or her own view, or even see another side to things. The worst though is when they have their opinion and then blatantly hurt others without even seeming to care, and when called on, they still don't give a fudge.

You are hitting the nail on the head. Unfortunately, in today's polarized society, empathy is DEAD. People are so dug in, and see any opinion contrary to their own as an assault on their own views. There is no understanding and it's pathetic. Is there any wonder why our country is so divided and no one can compromise anymore?

not only is she invalid, she "removed comments" from threads where SHE was a complete HYPOCRITE and upset that someone on another message board was judging HER....

Wow... I stepped away from this thread awhile back. Things got interesting (and utterly off topic) haha.
I miss all the fun stuff
I blame that on me being a darn FTWM

Re: Not worth it to work?
Am I the only one that wants this to be moved to the CF board with the title "Another reason to be grateful for being CF - you don't have to deal with this BS"?
