NPR - Acura RDX Question...
My FIL just bought a brand new Acura RDX after 15 years with the same car - YAYYY!
He got all sorts of features with the car but tells me that after 3 months he will have to pay for the navigation system on a monthly basis...I don't get it...
Does anyone else own an acura and are you familiar with this?
We have a luxury SUV (Lexus) with built in Navigation and we don't pay anything monthly. It has an old DVD from 2003 - if we want to update that there is a charge, but nothing on a monthly basis.
Just wondering...It is not ON-STAR btw...

Re: NPR - Acura RDX Question...
All New Acura Cars and SUV's use a DVD based Navigation. Maybe they are confusing it with Satellite radio?

Re: NPR - Acura RDX Question...
I did a google search and determined that their vehicle is equipped with a real-time traffic updater that syncs into the navigation system. I think the traffic thing is the part that they are being charged for. Wonder if they can opt out of that - seems unnecessary and will add to the monthly payments...who needs that, right?!

I have a MDX and we don't pay for the navigation. like you, if we want an updated DVD we have to pay for it. the only thing we pay for on a monthly basis is xm radio.
