Nuchal Cord at 39 weeks
Today, I went for an ultrasound and the umbilical cord is wrapped around the baby's neck.  The doctor said she is not concerned since he passed the biophysical and told me to monitor movement. If anything changes with movement, I am to call them ASAP. They also scheduled me for another NST Thursday morning to check him out again. If I do not go into labor on my own, I will be induced Monday morning.
Anyone else have experience with this?

Nuchal Cord at 39 weeks
My sister had this with my nephew. It's actually not as uncommon as you'd think.
Keep an eye on movement and if you have any doubts go get checked out. I'm sure you are in the best hands and you and your baby will be safe and healthy.

I have no advice but I'm so excited you're giving birth so soon!! Your miracle is almost here!!
Thanks Michelle! I can not believe he is almost here. When the doctor said we will be induced next Monday (at the latest), I think my DH almost had a heart attack - excited, but shocked that we are at the finish line!

My ds had the cord around his neck and so did just about every baby I know.

DS was born with the cord double-wrapped around his neck. There were no complications during birth & he is totally fine. I didn't know it before he was born, but I was induced (10 days overdue) because of cord compression (his heart rate would drop suddenly during NST) & I wasn't feeling as much movement.. so I'm glad I was induced when I was & didn't wait. The doctor who delivered him didn't think anything of it & said a third of all babies are born with at least one loop around the neck. Try not to worry!!

Thanks everyone!
I am still a little nervous, but will just keep an eye on fetal movement. Of course, he is never incredibly active (been like that the entire pregnancy) so that just makes my worrying worse. I guess he also has some brain sparing, which also makes me nervous. He has passed 2 NSTs and 2 biophysicals so it makes me feel a little better and my doctor assured me that if she was concerned, I would have been induced yesterday.
