I saw it on the news this morning, it happened in Queens! My first though was if he had children and he did!!! May his family find peace!!!
It was actually Brooklyn. I think the hospital was in Queens. So tragic I can't even think about it.
yes, that's it, jamaica hopital, that's why it was specifically on Queens News. My G'd, 4 daughters, I just keep on thiking about them!!!!

I pray that people keep this in mind, the next time they want to bash a cop. They are people, they are not all perfect, some make mistakes....but they put their lives on the line for us on a daily basis. This cop was a 22 year veteran. I am told that he was one of the most loved and respected cops in the 75 Pct. My heart goes out to his family and to his Brother's and Sister's in Blue. The tone in the 75 is very meloncolly today as would be expected...but this is a very active Pct, with a high crime rate. Please keep them in your thoughts today, and pray that God keeps them all safe.
I always say- it's easy to judge when your job doesn't involve the constant threat of being killed every single day. It's easy to sit behind a desk and judge. Run around the streets with a bullet proof vest on, carry a gun, get shot at, never know if you are going to see your family again, then you can judge.
This story makes me sick. What a disgrace. This is why NY needs the death penalty. These scumbags need to rot.
ITA.
It makes me so sad. its horrible.
To think he could/would of been retired.
May he rest in peace.

I just could never imagine this happening. It hits close to home now considering my BF is a Police Officer .. AND 2 of his fellow officers were killed in the line of duty this year..
I pray for this family and for all Officers out there ...

DH is due to retire soon and was on the fence. I keep telling him. GET OUT. Get out at 20. We will survive on your pension- trust me. We won't survive without you though. So freakin' horrendous.

This is so sad and it breaks my heart. I can't begin to imagine the pain the family is going through right now and how hard this is for them.
I am shedding a tear for a fellow family in blue that has to endure the ultimate sacrifice.
May he rest in peace....gone WAY too soon.

May he R.I.P.
Watching the news right now and the history of this animal is unbelievable. He never should've been out on the streets. I hope the judge who released him in NC back in November has trouble living with herself after this.
I can't even imagine how the cops controlled themselves when they were called to the scene and didn't shoot this animal in the face!

Re: NYPD Officer shot and killed this morning
My husband and I know this heroic officer through his cousin. DH's cousin, who is also a New York City PO, is the brother-in-law of the slain officer. So, as can be imagined, my husband's cousin and his wife are BESIDE themselves. I spoke with my DH's cousin's wife earlier today and she said her husband is SICK over this and she sounded the worst I have ever, ever heard her and my heart breaks for them - I had a knot in my stomach all day. I've met the slain officer's wife (DH's cousin's sister) several times as well as all four of their beautiful daughters at family affairs - they are a wonderful family and he is an unbelievable police officer. My brother worked with him in the 75 before being hired in Nassau County... my brother worked there over two years before Nassau called. It is dubbed the 'Murder Capital of the City' and I've spoken about it on here in regards to Kenneth many times before.
It has to be said and I don't think people realize unless you have seen it with your own eyes -- IT IS A WAR ZONE there. That is the only way that I can TRY to even DESCRIBE it. It is just horrific. When Kenneth was assigned there my mother told him to just quit. It is just a war zone. There's no other way to put it.
Just asking that everyone prays for this officer's family just like my husband and I will continue to do -- I don't know HOW they are going to survive this. I really don't.

This story makes me so upset I feel sick. Not only did it happen in a neighborhood my DH works in, but that poor man could've retired 2 years ago. My heart breaks for his wife and family.
My DH has 19 months left. I keep telling him not to work one second more. I want him home and safe ASAP.

So awful.
I can't help but think, even with the overcrowding issues, California is onto something with its three strikes law.

The sad thing is- if they paid these cops the money they DESERVE for doing this God awful job, maybe they wouldn't HAVE to stay past 20 years - just to be able to afford to live, and to put their kids through college. It's truly a disgrace that sports players get paid MILLIONS to play a freakin game and cops, firefighters etc- who save lives and risk their own in the process have to work 2 jobs, work way past retirement, etc- just to survive. The values in this country are truly disturbing.
