Ode to the Inappropriate Apostrophe

The apostrophe has three uses:
1) to form possessives of nouns
2) to show the omission of letters
3) to indicate plurals of letters

Just FYI: NONE OF THE FOLLOWING FIT THOSE RULES!! (Yes, they are all excerpts from the SAME email!)

We have plan's for Friday night.

I ordered so many nice dress's for the cruise.

His parent's are straight out of hell.

What color shirt's match with green pants?

We are supposed to have dinner with the McSmith's on Saturday.
---------- the McSmith's WHAT?!? Dog? Hat? Banana hammock?!?!?

That's EXACTLY what I was thinking!!

We just had a memo go out from our HR Generalist team:

"Make sure to use your left over vacation day's before June 30th."

My cousin bought her nephew a little sign for his room.

It said:

"Nicholas's room"

poor kid - we still call him Nichol-@ss - even though his mom was crafty enough to cover up the second "s".
