Re: *Official December 2012 Mommy To Be Thread*
had my level 2 today. found out we are team but also got some not great news. i don't remember technical terms, but the umbilical cord is one vessel short and there was something with the brain. the Dr told us not to worry, that each of those things is fairly common, but that coupled together, it's not as common, so i have to go over to SB hospital to see the Dr there for another level 2 within the next 2 weeks. the hope is that they won't be able to duplicate the results on that sono, but if they do, who knows what that means? i guess i could've asked, but i didn't want to know.
i'm trying not to worry, and ultimately, i don't really feel nervous, more just angry that every time i go to the Dr, they find something of concern. this is supposed to be a happy time, but this whole experience has just sucked
sorry to vent, i hope everyone else is doing well!

Re: *Official December 2012 Mommy To Be Thread*
Thanks, ladies I'm getting quite the runaround from the other Dr about scheduling this sono though. Even though I have a script, they won't accept it unless it's faxed directly from my Dr. I called my Dr and was told that since the main office isn't open today, they can't fax it until Monday (even though the office I go to is open today...). Then I got another call back from the new Dr and they said not only do they need the script faxed, they need all of my medical records faxed as well before they decide if they'll see me for a sono. Ugh, this whole thing is such a hassle!
Nancy, have fun at your party tomorrow! Post pics!!!

*Official December 2012 Mommy To Be Thread*
I had my follow up level 2 yesterday, I'm pretty much in the same boat I was in before. They didn't see any cyst in the brain, so that was good, but they did confirm the two vessel umbilical cord. Now, while my Dr said that's very common and not a cause for concern, this Dr had a different opinion and is now trying to tell me that it could be a congenial heart defect. Except for the fact that the heart looks absolutely fine and they haven't seen any problems with it whatsoever. They want me to come back for a fetal echocardiogram, but I'm going to talk things over with my Dr before I decide whether or not to keep that appointment. I'm honestly starting to think they are just looking for problems to keep me coming back every couple of weeks....
Overall though, I feel fine. I don't believe there is anything wrong and I'm tired of being told otherwise. So, I think I'm going to try and keep my appointments to a minimum and just try and enjoy the rest of this pregnancy because it has sucked so far!

So sorry to hear you are going through all of this. It totally sux to hear mixed messages, but it can also be good to arm yourself with as much information as you can get. I had a fetal echocardiogram, which to be honest, looked just like a normal sono to me. In my situation, it did help to resolve things, but of course, opting to move forward with it is a personal decision. So, whatever you decide, good luck and wishing the best to you and LO!!
