Hi girls! Anyone taking the childbirth class at Good Sam?
Do you know if it's mandatory? I need to figure out what to do about classes. Was thinking of taking a few through New Baby Belly in Massapequa.
I don't know if its mandatory but they have a great perinatal eductation dept and as a first time mom, I'm DEFINITELY doing the childbirth class there. I am actually going to do the childcare class at New Baby Belly, I think the one in September? New Baby Belly looks fabulous, so I am going to try and do one or two classes with them.
As for now, I am signed up for this coming Saturday's childbirth class @ Good Sam- though I am wondering if perhaps its too early (25 weeks) and I should maybe move it to the Sept date?
I think I'm going to sign up for the September childbirth class at Good Sam. I'm also planning to take the childcare and infant CPR class at NBB. Which reminds me, I need to sign up. It seems like the CPR classes fill up fast.

my reflux is back after dinner on saturday, i walked in my hallway back and forth for like 20 mins hoping it would go away, all the while sniffing an orange.. for me reflux will quick turn into something icky
Add me to the reflux game as well. It loves to hit me at midnight and last until 2 or 3 in the morning Last night was awful and I still have some burning in my throat from it.
On a good note, DH and I start our baby classes tomorrow!!!! I'm so excited!

i decided not to get a crib set since you're not supposed to use bumpers or quilts... so i just registered for a bunch of cute sheets in different patterns. my mom was mad because she loves the look of a "made up" crib and doesn't understand the no bumper rule (i slept with stuffed animals in my crib!) but i'd rather go for practical since i don't see myself making the baby's crib every day.

I looked at a bazillion crib sets- I just wasn't into transportation or safari animals or all the other 'boy' themes. I found a set I fell in love with- its more modern. Posted below with a few similar runners- up:

Thanks. Those are nice. I was looking at the Gloria Jean Preston which is similar to Central Park. I too do not like themes, i.e., animals, safari's etc...

How much movement is everyone feeling? I feel her move sporadically and I see my stomach twitching, mostly at night when I'm lying on the couch, but I'm nervous that I should be feeling more movement. I do have an anterior placenta but at 27 weeks shouldn't I be feeling more movement anyway?

Yes, I forgot to put that one- the Gloria Jean one was the one it came down to versus the one I chose. Both are gorgeous.

We added the Gloria Jean Preston to our registry yesterday but, I am not super super in love with it.
I really love the way the Brett, Daiden and Alfresco Bunny bedding looks on Poshtots.com but, they are really too pricey and they have a no return policy which is ridiculous.
If you go with the Gloria Jean will you choose the curtains as well? I woud if we do a neutral creamy beige on top of wall and a nice subtle blue on bottom - underneath the chair rail. Do you think that sounds nice?

As long as you are feeling some movement every day, you should be fine! I have an anterior placenta with this pregnancy (I didn't with my last) and there's a huge difference in the amount of movement I feel. It sounds like what you're feeling is perfectly within the normal range! If you're concerned, ask your doctor at your next visit how much movement you should feel each day.

If I went with the Glenna Jean, I don't think I'd use the matching curtains/ valance, not a fan. The beige on top/ blue on bottom combo sounds fabulous. As far as curtains and decor and all that, what I did was 'mix and match' all different wall hangings, decor, lamps., hampers, etc from varied bedding sets and brands- and together, they all seem to cohesively mesh really well with the preston set. I used Amazon strictly for nursery decor, to 'pull' from a range of sites and brands (as I found BRU & BBB's selection too restrictive/theme based). https://www.amazon.com/registry/baby/4VKLVYY3B35Y

I feeling like someone is tipping toeing inside (wondering if baby is breech ) and then when I sleep, I feel poking and mellow punches. I haven't felt any real kicks or the ripple movement that I have heard we should be getting. Maybe in a couple of weeks? I get worried too.. when I was fixing up the room this past weekend, I was wondering if I overdid anything.. and an like an hour later, baby was moving around when I started cooking.

movement is getting more and more consistant at 29 weeks. He gave me a kick last night that actually took my breath away it hurt and shocked me! DH said he saw my whole stomach move for it. I notice at night as well when I roll over he sort of readjusts as well.

DH liked the curtains but I was not a fan myself. Thanks for the tip!

I find that both babies are more active when im sitting. I'm assuming this is because the middle of my body is squished not elongated.

i would love to participate but based on my update i just posted on another thread I may end up being an August/early Sept mommy instead of Nov. so I don't know if I can be part of it. I just don't know what is going to happen so I'd hate to sign up and then not get a chance to send a gift to someone.
i'll still be around to check in on you november ladies no matter what happens with my twins.
I know your babies are here early , but I think you should still be a part of the November baby shower gift exchange!
