Just wanted to hop on and check in with my October ladies. Best of luck with all the scheduled births. If you're getting induced, please don't be nervous. I progressed very fast and had an overall positive experienc with my induction, that is until my LO wouldn't get past station +2 after pushing for 2 hours and i had to have a CS. Recovery was tough for the first few days but i was walking from day 1 and as of 7 days postpartum,i don't need my pain meds. I feel very lucky! Best of luck to all!!

In other news, we had our newborn shoot with Anne Hack and the teasers are to die for. If you're on fb, she posted a pic yesterday..i can't figure out how to post a pic from my phone.

I had an appointment yesterday and the dr did not do an internal (i'm 39w). I think i'm the only freak on this planet who actually WANTS them I guess it doesn't really matter in the end but still! My due date is on Sunday so now we just wait i guess

To anyone that had acupuncture-can anyone recommend a place in Nassau county? I just called the place I went to with my DD and they are overbooked this weekend.

My daughter Adeline Kate was born 10/8 at 8:30 PM via Csection. I had really wanted an unmedicated birth, but she clearly had a different plan. Saturday, 10/6 my water broke, we then waited 18 hrs at home to see if my labor would start on its own, no luck though, so Sunday 10/7 we went into the hospital, I was 100% effaced, but not dilated at all. So they started me on Pitocin. After over 24 hrs on Pitocin I still was only 5cm dilated, and at -2 station. Baby appeared to be stuck in my pelvic bone, because her head was molding to my bone and would not move past -2 station, so finally Monday night, 10/8 it was decided I really needed a Csection, Csection really was not fun, my body doesn't respond well to a lot of narcotics/drugs, etc, and I was vomiting during it, shaking, sweating, and felt short of breath, BUT in the end I had a beautiful, healthy baby girl measuring 7lbs13oz, and 20.5 inches. I spent past 3 days in hospital recovering, I am recovering pretty well, just trying to take it easy and enjoy my baby, and I'm so happy to finally be home!

What a crazy week! I went to the Dr. on Tuesday and since I had low amniotic fluid he sent me in to be induced. I didn't know what to expect. I was given cervadil and stayed overnight. By 1pm I was started on pitocin. By 3pm I had the epidural. I continued to progress sloooowly until I had the epidural and could relax. I probably was ready to push much earlier because i felt so much pressure with each contraction but I didn't start until 8:30 pm. Alyssa Rose was born 10/10/12 9:16 pm, 8lbs, 20 inches. I got to hold her right away and it was the amazing experience. I love her so much than I imagined I could.

We are thrilled to share our good news that we welcomed our newest little princess! Anna Grace was born 10/12/12 and weighed in at 8lbs 2oz 19 inches long. She was a c section as she was breech, but I am doing a lot better this time around, already up and walking and got to shower today hooray. Amazing how baby #3 is just s miraculous and breathtaking as baby #1 :) we are all in love with Miss Anna and feeling very blessed. Best wishes to all our new mommies and good luck to ll the mommies to be!!

I wanted to jump on here quickly to say that we welcomed our son Leo on 10/11/12 at 5:54pm after being induced the night of 10/10. He is beautiful and I definitely feel like this is a very big learning process. I was so overwhelmed in the hospital but am so happy to be home. Good luck to all the rest of the October mommies! my Due Date was yesterday but i'm still baby-less (which is kind of ok cause i still have things to get done). I *think* he's close though but i was wrong before. Well, he can't be more than 2 weeks away anyhow

So we're home with our little girl! Our first night last night was really rough since we were exhausted and it was hard not having the support of the nurses in the hospital. But we made it through and so far today has been peaceful and wonderful getting to bond with our little Audrey. I'm sill hurting from the csection but I guess that's to be expected since its only day 5. Its just so frustrating that the pain keeps me from being able to take care of the baby the way I would like to. I'm so thankful that DH has been by my side the whole time to help out. I'm still hurting too much to get myself on the computer to post some pictures but I'll try to soon. Congrats to any new mommies who had they're babies while I've been out of touch in the hospital and good luck to the rest of the October mommies who will be welcoming your little bundles soon!

Just wanted to post a pic of my little one. We're home now, and I'm feeling so much better being home. She's doing a great job breastfeeding which makes me so happy. Still recovering from the Csection, but I guess that's to be expected. I can't believe she's 1 week old already! Good luck to all the rest of you moms, wishing you easy deliveries!

We welcomed our little princess on 10/12/12 at 8:15 a.m. 7 lbs 10 oz, 21 in. Came home yesterday and so far, so good (despite the exhaustion!). She looks so much like her big sister. My DH has 2 weeks paternity leave, thank goodness!

our daughter arrived 10/12/12 - 632 am 7lb 6oz ......
went in for induction Thursday night got in at 830pm, had to wait for a room. Got the room and didn't get the cervadil until 1145pm. Held off on pain medicine(cause they said their is a delay for how soon they can repeat it). Finally got the Statol medicine which helped for a little bit. Pain got worse, and was told they could check me if far enough for epidural, again I held off.... finally caved and they checked I was 3-4cm. They placed the order, when they finally came to tell me to get ready, I went to the bath and noticed I had a strong burning sensation( I started picturing the baby coming out then, but figured it couldn't be cause my son was a 28 hr induction). While I was screaming in the bathroom the nurse told me to come out and get checked again...... I was at 10 cm ( from 3-4 to 10 in half an hour!!!)..... So NO EPIDURAL.... My water had already broken on its own earlier, in addition to a bleed at the same time which drs later said was placental abruption.... So... they got ready really quick I figured my ob would make it since last time pushing took me 2 1/2 hours...... NOPE... 3 pushes within 10 minutes and dd was born..... She ended up with a broken clavical - which we weren't told til my ped's backup came to do discharge exam and we then got an xray to confirm.... I was in recovery for 6 hours instead of 2 because of the placental eruption. I didn't realize labor had progressed so fast because I kept being uncomfortable in bed, so I'd turn on my side(which messed with the monitor, but it didn't come off) so we didn't know. So my arms were really sore until today cause I was clutching the bedrail instead of breaking dh's hands off. We ended up getting the photo's done in the hospital since we weren't planning on booking a photo session. They came out great - we packed a bow and blanket to vary the pictures, and the lady put gloves on when handling the baby. Oh yeah....... and we ended up with no roomate at Winthrop which was awesome, and the wing which had the showers in the room... and dd didn't have diabetes from my GD so she ended up in my room........ The whole experience was completed opposite of my first birth.

I'm petrified. Someone please pray for me and my little girl. Hearing all of these horror stories about induction is paralyzing.
