you can check to see if your doctor has been sued for malpractice or made settlements.
a few months ago, i went to a dr on recommendations from some people on this site and it turns out he has a bunch of settlements. i will not be going back to him.

I think there are something like 10 docs there!
I would not recommend Dr. Lester at South Bay...it was about 10 years ago, but she said some pretty insulting things that to this day I have not forgotten.
I second Dr. Judge. Before seeing an RE, I never used a male gyn but for my pap last year I tried him and he was excellent.
I have been treated by Dr. Ammirata and DH found her to be rude and impatient when I had surgery.
I used to use Dr. Mako but she left Southbay and I dont know where she went.

I love everyone in their office also!
I go there too! I have ben seeing Dr. Dolisi since he was in his old practice!
I also see Dr. MacKenzie, high risk.
He is great also!
I called there today & left a message to make an appt., no one called me back so I called again & got this horrible receptionisy who was SO rude that I will never go there

I use Dr. Wendy Fried in Lake Success. She is affiliated with North Shore Manhasset. Not sure which other Hospitals.

I agree that the receptionists there dont always make the best first impression...
I see Dr Hanauer, but Dr Dolisi delivered my son. I absolutely adore them BOTH.
But having said that my initial reaction was that the office staff over the phone was rude as well. I almost switched dr's bc I felt they were too busy and unfriendly.
BUT I am so glad I didnt. They were all so great throughout my PG...I was actually telling DH the other night that I miss Dr Hanauer and cant wait to get PG again so I can see her on a regular basis!!!!

There is one other OBGYN in that office, plus then they have Internal Med & Pediatrics all in the same office.
They also have a location on the Eastside that has 4 OBGYNS, plus IM & Peds.
I have been very happy with Dr Weinstein and her staff.

Girls, I recommend University Plaza OB in Garden City  I just had my first appointment with Dr. Rosenberg yesterday and he was great, I was VERY happy! I am 7w6d and he took as much time as we needed to talk about anything and everything.
I have also heard great things about Dr. Miller in this practice! They deliver at Winthrop which is a plus Good luck!

I live in VA so if anyone lives right near DC in northern VA near me, and wants a recommendation FM & I would be happy to help. Before we moved I went to Bethpage OB/Gyn on Hempstead Tpk in Bethpage. They were great. Everyone was really nice there.

Sorry to crash but I wanted to share my awesome OB. He delivered my DD last October and will deliver DD#2 sometime in Dec this year.  He is a solo practitioner, has a wonderful beside manner, a great sense of humor and really cares about his patients. I ended up having complications after delivering my DD (placenta would not deliver) and he handled the situation with professionalism and grace, even though it was getting pretty scary in my L&D room.  He delivers at Good Sam and Southside. If you want to opt for a solo, rather than a group practice and you live out in Suffolk County, check out my OB!
