OK - my first dumb question
What are the chances of just getting PG by having sex everynight a few days before you O, the day of O, and then the day after?
Without using OPK, checking CM, etc - just looking at the calendar and going from there?
also - do you O at a certain time of day?

I feel like the easiest way to TTC is just by having sex every other day from when AF ends until your next expected AF. No calculating, no calendar, no OPKs.

My midwife once told me told just have sex every 3 days and you can't miss your O. I feel like that's not enough, so I would think that every 3 days from after AF, and then every other day when you think you're Oing, and then back to every 3.

That's a great plan, but without using OPKs or checking CM, how would you have any idea when you O? Even with the same length cycle, different people will O on different days.

this is what i was going to post as well. your chances are much better if you try to time your O based on your body and not a calendar.
you can O at any time of the day. and there really is no way of pinpointing it to the hour (maybe w/a sono but i'm not a dr so i'm not sure).

I agree- although I've never been able to do it- and now with a kid, slightly impossible.

I have a kid too  But luckily this kid finally sleeps through the night. Last night would have been a good night to kick off the BDing, but we were so tired we passed out before anything could happen!!!

thats what we didand that was the month I got my +. The previous months we were using OPK's

My obgyn had told us to try to BD every other day from CD 10-20 and to have fun with it. She said most couples will get pregnant this way within 6 months of TTC.
We followed no routine and got pregnant.

ITA! Plus (as I kind of already knew and learned in my BIO class last night ) sperm can live inside of a woman for approx 5 days so if that is the case there is no way to miss O if you are BDing every 2nd or 3rd day.
Oh, fun fact, did you know that sperm have a hormone in them that causes the female reproductive tract to contract helping to pull the little guys up to where they have to go. I thought that was really interesting. Between that and having "the big O" right after hubby does how could they possibly not get there!!!
