I hope so too, but I am just hoping I am open enough. I dont want any more surgeries or procedures - I suppose we will know soon enough.

Grr. I am still rambling... DH Left work in Bklyn early to go to the appointment with me. He just called to tell me that no subways were running on the line he needed and he missed his train. He will miss the appointment. I know so many of you have done this part alone, but in the event that I dont get good news, I really did not want to be by myself.

Relax...it's going to be fine. I have the worst cervix and they are able to get in for an IUI...just relax and think happy thoughts.

Do we have to have a "My cervix is worse than your cervix" cat fight? Might be interesting in a sick kind of way!

DH just called me again. He feels terrible. He tried so hard to be there for me and the damn MTA screwed him over. This is why I hate subways and drive. His train gets in at 1:13 and he will scoot over to NSUH - fortunately, we live less than 10 minutes away. Though you'd nevr know it from this morning's traffic - lucky me gets stuck behind a truck, a stopped vehicle and a school bus - joy. OK kids, I am off. Ill be back later this afternoon to update.

***UPDATE***

I was open and ready for business! My cervix was open and easily accepted an IUI. It seems as if my procedures that I had almost one month ago to the day were all worth it.

I was crying in the parking lot because DH had missed his train and really wanted to be with me. I told the receptionist to please allow him to come back to the exam room should he show up. I was done before he got off the train by 1:10.

When I got there, Dr. R. was so sweet to me, I had apologized for being so wacky and having DH call him (last week) with questions the answers of which I could not decipher. He couldnt have been more understanding and said I should write things down. He then proceded cautiously implying that anything could happen, but before I knew it, the whole thing was over. IUI done. He showed me an internal of the sperm actually in the uterus which was awesome - so I knew the sample made it inside.

He was very positive and reassuring. When I asked him if I should come back again for a second IUI, he said I didnt need to based on my situation and timing of my surge. He said to take an HPT if I dont get AF in two weeks and if I do get it, to schedule more IUIs when I get my next surge. I also asked that if I am not PG with this cycle, will I have a hard time with my cervix for the next IUIs, and his response was that he didnt seem to think so.

So all in all, I am very pleased and excited. DH and I had a nice lunch and chatted a bit about the possibilities - both of us knowing full well what the odds are for this procedure for someone my age. But I'll be honest, just knowing that we CAN have kids makes the whole thing much easier to handle. I started to doubt my choices and I just can't do that to myself.

Of course and again as always, thanks so much for your never ending support. Without the ladies here, I would never have been led to such incredible doctors and services. You have my undying gratitude.
