What a huge difference it made....it completely looks like a different kitchen,
great job.
Please tell us how you painted them. Hand? sprayer? did you prime?

Looks great.
What finish did you go with for the paint? Glossy, Satin.....
Semi-gloss
Thanks.
Did you paint then my hand or use a tool like a sprayer?
I used a roller. Up close, they have a tiny bit of a textured look from the roller, but we decided that we kind of liked the look of it. The first thing I did was wash all the cabinets down with Krud Kutter. It removed all of the old wax and any oil left on the cabinets. Then I painted two coats of an oil-based, fast drying primer. I sanded them after those two coats, then applied three coats of the semi-gloss paint. I didn't sand in between the coats of paint. I tried it on one cabinet and it looked the same as the one I didn't sand, so I didn't waste my time.
I really didn't think it was necessary to have a perfectly smoothe finish on my cabinets, and I'm glad I decided that because it looks so nice. I guess if you wanted a really smoothe look, you could use a sprayer. That'd be the only way to not have the roller marks and not ahve brush marks.

It looks great!! I can't believe you did all that in 48 hours!
I've never painted cabinets before, but I've painted other things and I think if you use a foam roller you won't get any marks.

Well, I thought the same thing, so I bought a foam roller, but it still left slight marks. It really isn't noticeable and my guess is that if I never mention it to anyone, they won't notice. I'm just anal like that

Nice job. I want to do this so bad, my kitchen is so dark. I am just afraid of the outcome.

Great job! We had very similar cabinets in our kitchen. I painted them white as well - what a difference some paint makes!
