ok so I know I am a photographer - but I have a camera question!
After years of using my DSLR's - I want to get a point and shoot to take to the delivery room with me.
I am wondering if you have one would you recommend it?
I am also looking for video camera ideas...TIA!!!

I don't have one, but recently I went shopping with a friend for a little point and shoot and she got a Sony Cybershot. It was a nice little camera and was very reasonable at $199.

I have the Canon Power Shot - it is my second one and I love it. We have a Sony camcorder and it is great.

We have the Flip to take video... ROnloves it and it can fit in your pocket!!!

I am not a fan of cannon point and shoots. Had two with the same issue and know of many other with problems. I also find that Nikon coolpix are very slow.
I currently have a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5. I love the zoom and the Leica lens. It also shoots fairly clear HD video. It is a bit bigger then some of the other compact cameras because of the lens mechanism but really not too large. Here are a few sample shots.
I went to a NKOTB concert at PNC. This was my first time using the camera. Here is a shot with no zoom from my seat.
