ok TMI question of the day (from XM)

so while driving to work this am and listening to XM (20 on 20), they were talking about not flushing between pee(s) and it got me thinking ...

everyone was saying how gross it is to not flush between peeing. now, im 9 months pregnant and I frequently visit the bathroom at night. if I flushed EVERY time I pee'd, id wake DH up all night long! (we have a masterbath and he sleeps closer to it).

so, i pee and then close the lid. it doesnt bother him! he does the same if he gets up to go in the middle of the night.

am I strange? i hadnt even thought twice about it but ALL the callers were agreeing that its gross! hey, it also saves water and money!

i do the same thing at night...i'm up so often that i don't want to wake DH up and he also does the same for me...i don't see what the big deal is???

I grew up not flushing at night so I still do it. I know its kinda gross but the toilet was literally right behind the head of my sister's bed LOL

I flush every time, to be honest it would take too much thought for me not to flush and I'm on auto pilot in the middle of the night. DH doesn't wake up but the dogs do!

Our bowl is a water-saving bowl, so the flush is pretty quiet. I always flush, habit!

I don't flush in the middle of the night. I wake up so up often, DH would not be too happy if he has to wake up every time i go.

PS - I flush as SOON as I wake up for the day, before showering. I dont even open the lid, just flush

We do not flush at night if we only peed. It would wake the other person up, and possibly our DS.

Sometimes I don't flush. I don't want to wake up dd bc she's on the otherside of the bathroom.

I was thinking of this today.

When I get up to pee at night I don't flush in between. It's the bathroom in our bedroom and it's not like anyone else is going in there.
5 nights a week my DH isn't even home as he works night so it's just me. And the nights he is home i don't want to wake him up with the flushing. Also my cats here me flush and think I'm up for the morning and come to the bedroom door and cry for me! So I save it all up for one flush in the morning!

Sometimes if I'm home during the day I will not flush after every pee- just to conserve water. As long as I know we aren't having any guests that is!

I don't flush at night if it's just pee. DD's door is across from the bathroom.

I don't at night because it would wake DH up 2-4x a night. Our master bathroom has an older toilet so it's loud and takes forever.

I have to flush everytime I pee. However DH doesn't.

You see our perpectives are different because of where/how we grew up, not because of pregnancy. I grew up in Queens and we had sewers, he grew up out here and he had cesspools. I also am one of two kids and there were only 4 people in my house, meanwhile at one point 8 people were living in his house. They had cesspoll issues often and i don't even remember the last time my parents had an issue with the sewer.

I know several people who live by "if it's yellow, let it mellow. If it's brown, flush it down" My husband specifically ASKED me to flush at night because he doesn't like it dirty.

We don't flush at night. Our bathroom is large and when you flush is echos throughout the whole apartment. It would wake up DS since his room is closer to the bathroom.
It's gross if you look at it but we keep the lid down after every use and I flush it w.o. looking in it as soon as I get up in the morning.

out of habit I flush every time, but DH doesn't always as he was always told the "if its yellow let it mellow" rule by his dad growing up! I wake him up when I roll myself out of bed to go pee so me flushing isn't a big deal.
