Re: Okay - so we all know money is tight...

Parent's choice formula from Walmart. Just like the brand name.

I would either use it alone or I would make a container using half generic and half brand name. Worked out great. DD never knew the difference.

I love BRU wipes.

I for day I used pamper but if it was late and I needed to put a diaper on DD for less than 30 minutes I would keep target or CVS diapers on hand. I wouldn't waste a pampers or an overnight diaper for a "just-in-case".

I used target or cvs brand for medicines if they had an equivalent.

i'm so glad you guys think it's a good idea!!!

i haven't tried wipes or diapers yet (store brand, etc.)..but we are huge fans of:

kmart's brand soda - $1.49 a 12 pack!

america's choice noodles & sauce (instead of lipton & knorr)

equate (walmart brand) allergy & sinus medicine!

I live in Target. I use their brand for Drop Ins and lots of other stuff like medicine, detergent, etc. I also love the Circo onesies from Target...really good quality.

I clip coupons...I usually don't buy at BBB or BRU unless there's a sale or coupon. Same with Carters, Children's place, etc.

When something is on sale at the supermarket or drug store, I stock up.

I make my own baby food.

circo brand clothes ROCK! i love that they are only 3.99 and if you get them on clearance... i got a ton for 98cents each! they are cut so much better then carters because they are more boxy and my dd is a bit chubby!

walmart has a jug of apple juice for $2.

Also, I never buy the kid juice, aqua juice - they just charge more to water down the juice for me.

also - walmart brand cookies - we just tried some this weekend (which honestly is what prompted this post) - iced oatmeal were VERY good and $1.12!!

also - don't forget - walmart carries grrrranimal clothing! i think it's $2.99 for a onesie (but again - they're cut like circo - wide).

Yea..I agree with boxiness lol. DS is wide not long. He's only 26.5 inches but 19lbs. 2 oz. Short & chunky LOL.

But I feel that the Circo is very well made for how cheap it is..they are thicker than Gerber onesies and last longer. A few of my Gerber onesies already ripped Chat Icon

Re: Okay - so we all know money is tight...

walmart is heaven!

We use their diapers and just tried their wipes

I know the juice for me (in TX) is cheaper there

We puree her pears ourself at home for a snack. I have never bought a jar of baby food. I make everything at home.

Cheerios in generic are fine

Found a place that I paid for her first haircut but all bang trims are free for life!

walmart and costco clothes. Costco for milk too.

I've become a serious coupon fiend. I finally bought her clothes in BRU it was $80 to start and ended up at $23 which my aunt paid outright cause she couldnt believe how cheap i got it.

A lot of these have been said already but I will list them again because they're such great deals--

-Circo clothes and onesies at Target

-Garanimals clothes at Walmart
-Walmart store brand food

-Target store brand food, toiletries, etc

-Walmart, Target, or CVS brand diapers. The Target Up&Up is MUCH better than their old store brand diapers used to be

-Costco organic whole milk

-Making baby food. But don't waste huge amounts of money on a Beaba, it negates most of the savings! Almost everyone has a blender, food processor, magic bullet etc that they can use just as easily

-I like to check out Baby Cheapskate Blog to find out about current deals on diapers, formula, toys and baby gear... I scored an Evenflo Triumph for $109 and free shipping based on a tip from this site last month, and I have found out about formula deals and stuff many times this way too!

I AGREE- We use the blender to make Abby's food and it is so easy!

we go to BJS for all of her big items- they last us a long time!

Use coupons wherever we can

Re: Okay - so we all know money is tight...

When we go food shopping, most things are store brand (taste all the same!)

For diapers and wipes, I have just discovered Target brand, which work just as well as Pampers!

I shop a lot at the dollar stores too, mostly for cleaning products. Just because they aren't name brand doesn't mean they don't work!!!!!

Re: Okay - so we all know money is tight...

Don't be brand loyal...buy what is on sale. Plan your meals around what is on sale at the grocery store as far as meat goes. Clip coupons and plan your shopping trip. I actually sit down with the circular and my coupons and cross reference what is on sale. Many times when something is on sale, plus a coupon, which at my grovery store always doubles, things are CHEAP!

I spend about $75-$100 per week for a family of 4 and we eat gourmet!Chat Icon Cook from scratch....stay away from processed frozen entrees etc. I just buy fresh veggies, meats, dairy, etc and cook with a plan in mind, so that I can cook once and eat two or three times.

Target Diapers rock.

Re: Okay - so we all know money is tight...

Absolutely the Circo brand clothes! They are cut so well and are affordable! Also the Target up and up wipes. Haven't tried the diapers yet but I plan to. I will always look for the generic version of something unless there is a preference (ex DH only likes Hellmans mayo and Heinz ketchup lol). But 90% of the time I buy generic store brands. I also have coupons for everything and I usually only buy stuff on sale unless I really need it.

I can't take credit for this one but:

If you are a daycare mom and DC doesn't really do as well in generic diapers as they do in brand name - get the gerneric for daycare since they change them every 2 hours anyway.

========================

Once for dinner I made pasta and meat sauce. There was more then enough left overs for 1 for lunch but not enough for 2 for dinner. So I added a can of beans ($.50), some spices and turned it into a chilli for dinner then next night for 2.

Re: Okay - so we all know money is tight...

I use Kirkland (Costco) brand diapers and wipes. They are awesome!
I use Target brand for all OTC medicines (rather than Tylenol, Motrin, saline drops, etc)
I buy bulk whenever I can. Although it is expensive upfront, it last so much longer and reduces the amt. of times I have to go to the store Chat Icon
Definitely Costco for organic milk! (I think BJs might be a little cheaper but I don't belong there!)Chat Icon

ETA: I use the Up and Up (Target_ for almost all cleaning products when they have it. It is basically the same stuff for much cheaper.
