Stay safe, Phyl - the 5 years I've lived in CA, I've never seen winds this bad. We can smell and see the smoke in the air over here, and we're nowhere near any of the fires, so I can't even imagine how quickly the flames are spreading over your way.

Stay safe, Phyl - the 5 years I've lived in CA, I've never seen winds this bad. We can smell and see the smoke in the air over here, and we're nowhere near any of the fires, so I can't even imagine how quickly the flames are spreading over your way.

Fire is now spread and my sister can see flames across the canyon from her house.
It's also 8:30pm here and 77 degrees!

Just up and around to the canyon near my house My sister actually can see flames because it has spread so fast and far
We are on constant phone updates with each other
As of now the wind has shifted and is blowing away from me but toward my sisters house.

I'm in NE Orange. Orange County.CA..A lot of hills etc near me here...New fires have just broken out and I'm not sure what to do The winds are the most wicked I've ever seen. Family members are calling.
