ONE more Christening question( sorry) about After clothing
Did you change your DD's out of their dresses for the party? Did you buy a white outfit? Another dress?
I am afriad they will spit up on the dresses, but I kinda want them to stay in them?

Both my girls stayed in their dresses. We did not have long dresses.

I changed both boys after, and thank god I did because the outfit was SO slippery, I could barely carry Tyler in it.
Not sure what to do with little girls though.

oooh yes, Tyler was sweating in that outfit (and it was just last weekend)
Donna, they have those adorable little outfits (and onesies) that you can personalize. I know they sell them at Tri County. I wanted to get one for Tyler to change into but I thought it would be nice for him to wear the same outfit that Jack changed in to.

Let me see if I can find a pic (if not tonight, then def. tomorrow)
I have no idea about headbands and whatnot. I think I would be the worlds worst girl mother now lol. I have to say, I'm not a fan of bonnets personally. And, I'm not really a hat person either (for my boys either!) I think a simple headband would look cute, especially if the dresses have a lot of detail in it (but again, I have NO CLUE about girls stuff)

I dont even know WHERE to buy headbands. The ones that match the dress were $16 , and that seemed ridiculous, but now to save my sanity, I might just order them.....

I changed him after. I really had no special outfit but, his godfather brought this adorable Raplh Lauren outfit. I would NEVER spend money on that. but, he would and it was sooo cute!

Re: ONE more Christening question( sorry) about After clothing
We changed him into a little white linen outfit that I got on clearance. I wouldn't have spent a lot of $$$ on an outfit. If I hadn't gotten the clearance outfit, he would have been in a onesie and pants.

Re: ONE more Christening question( sorry) about After clothing
DC wore the Christening gown me and my brother wore, so we changed him after church. I didn't want anything happening to it.

Re: ONE more Christening question( sorry) about After clothing
I did, both times. I think I did it right after or before dinner.
For DS I found this really nice cotton pale blue feety outfit (I guess a really nice PJ) with a peter pan white collar that had a blue stitch running on the bottom of it.
For DD, hers was in Oct. so the Gap had their Thanksgiving line out. So she wore a cream colored knit sweater dress. It looked really cute. She was younger so I probably should have put her in some sort of layette, because all she did was sleep.

Re: ONE more Christening question( sorry) about After clothing
my son wore the christening gown that imy cousin, my brothers, and I wore - i left him in it the entire time - everyone wants to see the baby in the outfit - don't stress over getting another outfit
my dress is over 30 years old -hand crocheted and there was one spit up stain from my cousin that was 27 years old - oxy clean got it out without hurting the dress at all
i would maybe get a nice bib

Re: ONE more Christening question( sorry) about After clothing
We changed them afterwards - mainly because the christening dress (which was originallly DHs & his sisters) was extremely uncomfortable for them & to hold them - way too slippery!
We changed them into regular outfits. Most people change them into white outfits but really to me it's an extra expense.

Re: ONE more Christening question( sorry) about After clothing
DD was baptized in late winter, so she wore a white one piece. I don't know what you would call it. Kind of like velour I guess. It was dressy, but comfortable.

Re: ONE more Christening question( sorry) about After clothing
We changed Kaydyn out of her christening outfit and into a little cotton carters dress. I just knew that my family would be passing her around and I wanted her to be comfortable.

DD wore my Christening dress from 30 years ago, so I changed her into a cute dress afterwards. I will do the same for this DD.

Re: ONE more Christening question( sorry) about After clothing
I put him in a Carter's white onesie and those Carter's elastic band stretchie pants, also white. We got a Ralph Lauren polo sweater as a gift when he was born that was white with blue trim. He started out in that too, but the room got too warm for it.
I didn't spend too much and thought he would wear them again (he ended up not wearing them ) and I mainly got them because the Christening outfit was way too uncomfortable for him to be in for the whole party. He started out in the Christening outfit (some people didn't make it to the church, so they could see him in it) and we changed him after we settled in a little at the party.

Re: ONE more Christening question( sorry) about After clothing
I bought her a comfortable white cotton dress and matching cardigan/sweater to put her into afterwards. I just figured it would be more comfortable...plus I'm hoping to keep her gown somewhat neat .

Re: ONE more Christening question( sorry) about After clothing
we are changing DS. I wanted to get a simple one piece but DH was aiming more for an outfit.
From children's place:
I'm going to ask DH's aunt if she could embroider DS's initials into the sweater to make it more personalized.
