My one year old has been hitting other kids at the playground and we joined a mommy and me class and he hit two kids in the class yesterday. The other moms are pretty understanding but is there something that I can do to get him out of this habit? I've noticed he only does it when he's excited.

Also, he seems to be very hyper/excited compared to the other kids. All of the kids in the group are able to sit but my son was up and about the whole time. The class encourages letting them move around but i'm nervous with doing that because of the hitting.
