Only mommy out of my friends vent again.....
Just tired of being left out, and then called last minute to do things.. and when I have to say no because we already have plans or because DH is out and I don't have a baby sitter... they get angry....
I dont talk about DD all the time, and I dont do the "you all should have babies... " routine... so maybe they just feel like I must be busy or like I am different know, which I am sure I am.. but I miss girl time.. I miss being at least asked if I want to go..
just wanted to get it out there... vent over

Yup, Im right there with ya  The other day my friend posted pictures of a birthday night out. I never remember birthdays, but I wasnt even asked to go.

It stinks... and they play it like IM the one who is not going out or calling them... which is how they see it I am sure... its all about perspective...

I was the first amongst my group of friends to get married and am now the first to be a mom.
I feel like I have grown apart from many of my single friends. When I was pregnant, I'd still get invited out for the sake of it. I haven't been invited out for a party for a long time. Most likely I would not be able to go out and the last thing I'd want to do is go barhopping. For me, I think it is a mixture of not living in manhattan anymore plus having had a baby recently.
It goes both ways though. I've been so preoccupied with a new baby that it took me months to return phone calls and emails.

I would explain to them that even though you will not always be able to say yes like you could before DC came along, that you would like to get out once in awhile and you still value their friendship. I am only 27, I married at 25, had DS at 26, DD at 27. One of my friends is a mom, the rest are either married without kids, engaged, or single. We are all at different stages in life, but we try to get out for a "girls" night once a month. I love DH and my kids more than anything, but I need a life that doesn't include them also. And that's what girlfriends, single or not, are for! I hope iit works out for you!

Yup totally hear you! There have been a bunch of things so far this summer that I just couldn't go to because of my DS and they just don't get it!

Thanks ladies.. I am going out for dinner and sangria tonight.. I guess it hit me when summer came and teaching was done with.. now that we are ALL free over the summer, they are doing so much and I have to prioritize what I want to go to because at the same time, I want to be home with DH and DD....
I will tell them how I feel tonight... i am sure it goes both ways, since I have been MIA recently too
