I THINK i stay on disability.
But now I am thinking, IF I am eligible for unemployment is that more than disability?
BUT if I go for unemployment isnt it only good if you can show you are actively looking for work?

they letme go, but came to my part on tuesday night
AND
they are still paying for a maid service for me every week for anothre 2 months
and paying for a lawn service for me for another two months
soooooooo odd

crap, I didn't think of that. In this case, disability might apply but I'd look into both options considering they let you go.

I think that is true. When my mom was let go a couple of years ago she had to send unemployment her resume and had to "check in" and let them know she was looking and going to job fairs and stuff. I am not sure how it works, though, since you are on disability.

When DH was on disability, it paid next to nothing! I think you'll get more right now if you qualify for unemployment.
That's great that you're still going to get 2 months worth of maid service from them!

At least I got a video ipod for my birthday from them before it happened.
That will be PERFECT to use during chemo so I have to be thankful and grateful for that.

FLorida might be different then NY- but one of the questions for unemployment is can you work?
since you are on disability I don't think you qualify ( under NYS rules)
but I would look into it
it's a crappy thing for them to do- but I learned that most company's/corporations don't really care
when my Mom was sick- my Dad used all of the sick time he had saved up to take care of her- and his school district gave him a hard time- saying he was hurting the students by not being there- so many parents came to the meeting- the district was embrassed-
the parents were more concerned about my Mom- then the district- and the kicker is she was a teacher in the same district
together my parents gave them over 60 years of their lives- and that was the thanks my Dad got

That absolutely sucks. We have someone out in a similar situation. I won't go into details but he should've been fired for performance long ago. Our company stepped up to the plate. That is infuriating. Is your health insurance through your company or Darren's?
I'm at the State of Florida's unemployment site. It's confusing
There's a section that says:
There are many reasons for denying benefit payments. The following is a list of common reasons for denail:
*Quitting either part-time or full-time work for personal reasons. Benefit payments can only be paid if you quit for good cause attributable to your employer or for a personal illness or disabitlity that made it necessary for you to leave the job.
*Not being able to work or available for work. You must be able, ready and willing to accept a suitable job immediately. You must also be able to get to work and have adequate child care in order to be able to work.
I would apply & see ifyou get denied. The State of Florida should also be supplemening your disability payments.
