Thats horrible- when my mom was sick they gave her tenure anyway and they pooled all their sick time to have her be able to get paid while whe was out... They were very kind as expected when someone is really ill- I dont know how tey can live with themselves.

It's okay Deb... the bright side really is that you get to stay home with the baby!!

This makes me so upset! Hearing about the other poster whose company all pulled together and gave their vacation and sick time to the person so that they could have the time they needed --- I wish there was some way that we could all do this -- gve you our sick and vacation time.
It is no use talking about how @$$holish your job must be -- to do it to the day -- but I wish we could all come up with some way to make it better -- to help......

Hey Deb...I think that the 12week rule only applies to maternity leave...You have cancer, that is a completely different ballgame. If you did not return to work from maternity leave after the 12 weeks, then I think they could have fired you. But you have a serious medical condition that requires surgery and therapy...they cannot fire you for that if I am not mistaken. It just happend to come at the same time as your sons birth.
Screw them...I would sure their pants off! I am so sorry hunny!

Deb I am so sorry. As if you haven't be dealt a bad enough hand already they just made it even worse. I am sooooo sorry. What goes around comes around and I hope they get theirs. I can't believe how insensitive they can be at such a difficult time for you. They should be pulling together to help you at this difficult time, not pushing you away like this... I wish we could get their info and write some serious letters of extreme dissapointment.

OMG that's just not right! We have 2 (male)employees that are out on what turned into long term state disability .We are keeping them on the books so if they need to go on it permanently it makes it easier for them.Your company s*cks Azz
