Operation Get Jack To Take Longer Naps Update (thanks Inshock lol)
So - thank you all for your great advice yesterday.
Thank god DH was home today - so it was much easier to move his nap from 11am to 12.
We went out to breakfast, went to my cousins, then to Target.
Came home - played around.
11:30 fed him lunch.
12:00 - he was sleeping.
He only slept for an 1 hour and 15 mins....but - HE WOKE UP HAPPY! That has not happened in ages!
I am praying that the naps will get consistently longer (which is why I am buying blackout shades Inshock!)
Thanks for all your great advice - hopefully we are on the right track!

Only an hour and 15 minutes???
If Lily naps for 45 minutes I feel lucky!!
Today she only napped once...for 30 minutes....while I was driving...and I had to pee, but I couldn't stop. 
I'm jealous.

This is what I keep telling Chris he has to do! He just puts him down for naps whenever he is sleepy and he takes like 3 short naps

Great news!!  I hope the shades help this mission to advance even further! 
After reading your thread yesterday, I actually had the nanny put K down to sleep at 11 (instead of closer to 10) and she slept for nearly 2 hrs!! So I am in the midst of a covert operation myself!

Well, just when she's with us. When she's with my dad during the week, she naps great. In the crib. For hours at a time. She's perfect.
With us, she screams in the crib, refuses to fall asleep in there and will only sleep in the car - which leads to shorter naps.
Luckily, she's quite pleasant even with only one short nap. She's very very very lucky she's cute.

Diana...I wish I had seen the post to respond.
Lucas naps at daycare at around 12 after lunch and is usually down for 1.5 to 2 hours.
At home I realized I had to modify his old schedule so for about a month now our weekend schedule is:
7am - wake & breakfast
7:45 am - 10:30 - play
10:30/11 am - down for a nap
That nap is usually about 2 - 3 hours

Hopefully, his naps will get consistently longer!! But happy waking is a great first step!!

Actually, I catch up on all my phone calls - clients, friends family -- it's kind of a good chance for me to chill
