Opinions on all white bathrooms....the good, bad and ugly.
We are redoing our master bath in April. I am so stuck on an all white bathroom that I cannot get it out of my head. White Marble subway tile, Carrera marble vanity top with white vanity , hex white tile floors, etc. Really love the traditional look of all white. Husband thinks its not practical for our lifestyles....
any opinions/ideas/suggestions?

I hope your not a shedder because you will see every piece of hair that falls from your head 10 seconds after you sweep.
I like the look, just too high maintenance for me.

Love!- Would you tile all the walls?
I want to do mostly white & the tile would only go halfway up the wall, so I would paint that a color. I amy also do gray accent tile, but I never considere a white floor. I was looking at gray but was never in love with it, so maybe whit is the way to go.
My concern would be it lookinf to industrial, not the practicality of it.
To me, white tile is not like white carpet. You have to clean a bathroom all the time anyway, and it won't absorb dust & dirt like carpet or couch & discolor.

mine is almost all white. Just has a row of black tiles. It came this way I did't choose it. Between me DH and our black dog there is hair everywhere and I hate it. I can see every piece and when I clean it is covered within hrs.
I do like the "clean" feel it has when it is clean but only lasts a few minutes.

My mom has one and no matter how much you clean you can always see some sort of hair or dust on the floor.
It drives her crazy and for that reason I would never consider a white bathroom.

I see the dust & hair on both of my bathroom floors--one is dark blue & one is light tan. I used ot have a white floor in a old apt--and it was just the grout that was bad-but that is an issue with ay color.
Maybe compromise wth DH & do a darker floor & white eveything else?

I have two all white bathrooms - one is white subways, white vanity with porcelain top, white hex floors...the other is white wainscot paneling/white subways in shower, white vanity with marble top and marble hex floors. I love them and don't find them impractical at all! Such a classic look, everything goes with it!

My white bathroom is the bane of my existence. This thing needs to get scrubbed daily or else it looks like a wild animal flew in and left all of its hair there.
Sorry to be so harsh  but as soon as we can afford it, I need to do something about it.

I don't have one but I know people who do. The problem with it is that people are drawn to the "clean" aesthetic of a pure white bathroom. Except in real life it never truly looks clean.

We have an all white bathroom. The floor gets dirty easily... It's our upstairs hall bath for the kids and I'm kicking myself for doing it now.

I think it can definitly go that way-it depends what you do with it.
when I was looking & was concerned that white subway tile would look like a public bathroom, but there are edgings & accents & things you can get to make it look pretty & classic & not industrial.

Mine are far from cold and institutional, I have navy paint on the top of the walls and a colorful plaid shower curtain in one, and in my master a pretty silver sage color on the top of the walls with the towels in similar sage tones. All depends how you accent them.
I have three kids (two are boys who are not known for their neatness) and really don't have to do anything extraordinary to keep them clean, but to each his own.

I lived in an apartment that had a white bathroom. White subway tile, white clawfooted tub and white G-Damned floor. IT was a ***** to keep the floor clean. The rest of the bathroom would stay clean but that floor was the death of me.

i had a white bathroom in an apartment, it was great. next apartment was also a white bathroom but the floor tiles were 1 X 1 and white... NIGHTMARE to clean.

I have a white marble master bath. I love it. The only advice I would give to you is for the floor. I would do a bigger tile with less grout. The grout is the only pain in the assss to clean, especially in the shower. I have the shower floor as the marble mosaics and the grount gets gross. Constantly have to scrub down really good. So I would still do it but with a bigger tile. Maybe just accent with the hexa tile for a border?

We had an all white bathroom, renovated it last year and did half the walls in white tile w/sheetrocked top half so we can paint it whenever we want; everything else stayed the same ((90% all white)) but we HAD to change the floor. We just couldn't stand looking at the white floor anymore b/c I cleaned it every single day and kept it up two times a day and it was never spotless w/hair and dust...
I say do it all white, but pick something else for the floor.
