OPK Timing

When do you ladies think is the best time to test? I've seen first thing in the AM but I also read that LH surges usually take place in the afternoon and not while you're sleeping?

Also - I read somewhere on here that you should only test if you haven't urinated in a while (over four hours) - do you ladies think there is any validity to that? Can anyone explain it!

TIA!

OPK Timing

I've read in the afternoon after holding for about 4 hours (which is impossible for me).

The Clear Blue Fertility Monitor recommends testing the first urine of the day (when you wake up). I heard other things from other girls as well but I don't think an expensive fertility monitor would have you test during a time that will not give an accurate reading.

I do the CBEFM every morning as requested - just wondering about the other tests bc I usually test 2x a day and now that I'm thinking about it - I have never gotten a positive smiley in the AM - it's actually always at night!

From what I have read your LH is more likely to occur during the day, showing up on tests done later in the afternoon. I'm wondering if the CBEFM recommends doing it in the AM because it's easier to hold enough urine over night - during the day, from a urological standpoint, it's actually NOT recommended to hold your urine for more than 2-3 hours (holding it longer can actually bring on incontinence problems).
