I did it with just novacaine- but that's me. I really have an aversion to drugs and get very nervous about being put under Just so you know it was fine with just novacaine- you don't feel a thing.
thats great to know..I have all four still, impacted and I am terrified of being put under, its good to know it can be done with just novicane

Just make sure you have enough time for the novacaine to take effect. I did the left side first and felt pretty much nothing. He didn't let the novacaine "sit" for as long on the right side, and I felt more. It wasn't excruciating or anything, just uncomfortable - but why be uncomfortable if you don't have to?

I might go with the novacaine and maybe bring my Ipod and listen if I could I don't want to hear anything. I've have novacaine done with my filings at my regular dentist.
But she also said some people do a combo of novacaine and laughing gas.
I never had laughing gas (so this maybe a stupid question), but does laughing gas make you laugh?

It doesn't make you laugh but it makes you feel like you dont' care about anything- kind of like you are drunk in a way. You feel like you are floating. I dont' like it at all. I wig out with anything where I'm not in control. So I just had novocaine and kept my wits about me- and stayed in control like I like to be.
The IPOD is a good idea- there was a lot of unpleasant noises!

Re: ORAL SURGERY: Wisdom Teeth
I just wanted to thank everyone who shared their experiences I made it more that it was.
I canceled my original appointment and made one with an oral surgeon my dentist recommended. I went last Friday and I got two wisdom teeth pulled and it went well -- I was knocked out, didn't need stiches or a follow up.
In about a month I'll go back and take out the other two.
Thanks again
