Our slow "solid" food progress
EJ has been eating more fruits. Meat is still a no no. But he is willing to try everything "ONCE". Then makes the puker face but at least he tries. Also no more gagging. It is a slow road. Most of it is only a few bites but it's better than nothing. I am tired of Stage 2. 
AND tonight he had some Cheerios. He hated them but tonight just ate them like if they were puffs.

And let me tell you, my kid, who eats everything isn't big on meat either! I thinkt he texture is weird for them all

Sounds like he is making great progress! DD still makes that same face when she eats something for the first time. I just keep offering it and after 5-10 times I find she will then either eat it or give up. So don't give up on the meats yet it will come in time. At least he like healthy stuff!
