Re: ovarian cycts?
i had a very bad experience with another kind of iud years ago, it gave me an infection that i had to be on antibiotics for weeks for, also it moved out of place and wasn't even protecting me from pregnancy! I got lucky that I didn't get pregnant.
Needless to say i'm very against iud's; you need to get checked right away.

Re: ovarian cycts?
I had this on Mirena.
It started after I gave birth (before Mirena), but got MUCH worse after Mirena. One month I thought DH was going to have to take me to the emergency room. I think it coincided with ovulation. TMI, but within 12 hours of the pain (many times sooner) I would experience a lot of CM. I mean a lot at one time. Then the pain subsided until the following month. The month I thought I would have to go to the ER, In experienced CM about 6 hours after the pain. Also, I never got AF while on Mirena. No spotting after the initial spotting at all. So maybe it was a 'false AF'. I don't know. Before I had Mirena put in, when I had the pain initially, my doctor sent me for a sono, and they said everything was fine and I had just ovulated. So that's why I think that was the painon Mirena. Since being off Mirena (3 months) the pain has subsided a lot. I still feel ovulation but not like Idid on Mirena.

Re: ovarian cycts?
I have that severe pain and I too have the Mirena. I've been to my OB for it as well just because I wanted to make sure it was nothing more. While I don't get a period because of the Mirena, the pain would co-inside with spotting, so I attribute it to the time of the month I would be getting my period, not ovulation. It was bad for about 2 or 3 months in a row, and then nothing for the past few months! So my OB hasn't done anything but have me monitor the pain. It sometimes feels like I'm on fire inside! It's such a weird feeling!
