I guess because I lived in the city for so many years I really don't see why its such a big deal.
Its a public street. People can park wherever they want, who cares?
i was with you 100%! when i first moved DH and i had different opinions on the topic...he felt his house he gets to park in front of it, i felt its a public street. i posted on here and turns out common courtesy is that you dont park in front of your neighbors house (of course guests etc are different). after being in the house for 4 months i now get annoyed when they park in front of my house. friday i came home from work and had to park across the street in front of my neighbors bc how they parked, they took up 2 spots in front of my house. Turns out she came home and did a U-turn to specifically park in front of my house...the 2 spots in front of her house were open. that really annoyed me - DH is going to speak with them today

This thread had me worried because our neighbor from across the street (though, we look at the side of their house b/c we're on a corner) continuously parked 2 of their cars in front of our house and it was annoying me. But this was during the 2 months between when we closed on the house and when we moved in. We just moved in 3 days ago, and they have changed where they park their cars. We have a double driveway and a garage, so we never really have to park on the street, but I just didn't want random cars in front of my house all the time. I was lucky that they stopped on their own, though. To the OP, I probably would just talk to them in the nicest way possible. It never hurts to ask them to at least only take up 1 spot in front of your house.

Parking in front of neighbors house
It is not your street, but it's inconsiderate of them to park in front of your house. The neighbors across from me have a 4 car driveway and 2 cars. They park 1 car in the driveway and 1 car in the street directly behind my driveway!!! It drives me crazy because it's very hard to back out of my driveway. We have a 1 car driveway and DH parks in the street.
On a side note- maybe you should get a basketball hoop and put it in front of your house. It would probably send a message without confrontation!

start parking your own cars there so they get the hint and get used to the fact that you are taking those spots.

I would park my cars in the street and leave my driveway free....that's just me.
I would do the same exact thing.
