Partial Previa - c section at 37 weeks
Hi Everyone,
I am 28 weeks and have partial previa, my doctor said I would Have to have a c section unless the placenta moves by my next appointment (in 4 weeks). I am just nervous because he wants to deliver 3 weeks early so I don't go into labor. My question is if any one has had this and had to have a c section at 37 weeks was the baby ok? I know I worry too much but it just seems so early....please help ease my mind a little.....thanks!!!

ME!
She was breech. I had my placenta in the wrong place but it did move. She did not. I was scheduled for a C/S on week 39 but my water broke week 37.
She was perfectly fine. No big deal at all. My only regret is I wished it had been SCHEDULED instead of surprise. I had to wallow in labor contractions and pain for 9hrs before they could fit me in. Ugh I HATED that and its a very big reason I'm one and done. I think if I had gotten my scheduled C/S instead I may not be so against having another. (sorry different story)
Here's AJ's birth story
You'll be fine and so will the baby!

37 weeks is full term so its not really too early. your babes will do great!
the doctor wouldnt do it if it wasnt in you and the baby's best interest. they dont do c-sections 3 weeks early without good reason!!

Re: Partial Previa - c section at 37 weeks
37 weeks is considered full term and not premature. I didn't have PP but I ended up preeclampic - I went into see my OB at 36w 6 days and that night my BP spiked high and I started to get sick so they felt that DD#2 had to come out and was ready. I delivered her earl by csection the next morning so she was exactly 37 weeks. She was healthy with no complications and was 9lbs 5ozs. No NICU time at all.
I know it sounds early but there are many healthy babies born at 37 weeks and as others have stated it is considered full term.

Re: Partial Previa - c section at 37 weeks
My water broke at exactly 37 weeks and I went into labor early. I was scheduled for a c-section at 39 weeks.
He was 6 lb 8 oz and perfect No issues at all. No NICU and he went home on time. The doctor said 37 weeks was full term and there were no complications!
