Thank you everyone!! Chat Icon

I haven't really seen it 100% dry yet, we woke up to the dampness so I guess I won't be seeing it completely dry for a few days. Chat Icon

OMG, love how it came out. Chat Icon Fernando did an amazing job. Gorgeous choice of pavers. Love the colors and the random pattern. I'm sure you guys will really enjoy your summer now. Chat Icon Chat Icon Good luck with the grass seed. You guys might want to wait a couple of weeks with this rain. We still don't have full grass because of all this rain. Just keeps being washed away. I'm waiting for sunny weather until we re-seed for the 3rd time. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Enjoy! When is the big party? Chat Icon

ETA: and I love that rain barrel. Where are you getting it from? I love that it doesn't look like a barrel. Chat Icon

We bought a sun/shade mix for the area by the basement (kentucky bluegrass and fescue) but we want to get a shade mix that's primarily fescue for the area around the japanese maple and the sideyard. We also got some cloth that goes right over the seed to prevent the birds from eating it, but still lets water through.

I agree that I'm not going to put any seed down until the weather isn't as crazy. We still need to remove the rocks and put down some good topsoil to level it.

The rain barrel is from http://www.gardeners.com. It's pricey. I could find ones that are cheaper, I'm sure, but this was the trade-off for Rusty. He wasn't a fan of the other designs, especially since it will be in such a visible area. I do like the design, I just wish it wasn't so cost-prohibitive. Gardeners.com has more, but they're all a little Chat Icon

I look at it like this... If people like me who are willing to spend more on a "new" green idea bolster the popularity, it may help them to become more common and more affordable for everyone else. I'm ok with that role. Chat Icon
