Re: Ped visit today didn't go so well...
We had some protein issues early on but she's so much better now. she looooooves the meatless meatballs from Trader Joes and we've just recently gotten into hot dogs. Hot dogs I was able to get her to eat by association b/c she love Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and hot dog song/dance at the end. I make her turkey dogs. She does like chicken nuggets so that helps. Oh and now we've started soup. She is so picky but seems to eat anything that's in the soup even though she wouldnt' eat them separately i.e. green beans, carrots, chicken, corn, etc. I think b/c the soup makes it all taste the same and it's soft. She loves the idea of the soup b/c it looks like juice. She calls it juice as she scoops it up. Maybe try some of those things if you haven't

Ava doesn't now or has she ever eaten meat. She doesn't like the texture. Don't be upset, just try to sneak in other healthy foods. An iron rich vitamin is a good idea.

does he like hot dogs? i know if it were not for hot dogs bryan would eat no meat.
Oooh. I never tried that. Do you take the skin off?
gerber also makes meat sticks that come in a jar. No need to peel. I think they are gross, but at 5 Ryan still loves them. Its worth a shot.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with a baby not eating meat. Infact, Ava doesn't eat meat, she eats poultry, but we do not eat any red meat or pork. Ever. My ped. said raise her vegetarian if we want so long as she gets her protein. The vitamins will be fine for him. Don't be too worried!
