And this will likely have no effect on the people who refuse to be vaccinated. They’ll just move the goal post again.

Yeah, probably. I just refer to them as the control group now.

i just saw that in order to play a high contact sport in the NYC schools, you need at least one dose of it.
Figures they approved it right before the start of school.

Re: Pfizer Granted full FDA approval
Why should it have an impact? Actually how the vaccine has played out in real life has made most people I know even more against getting the shot and many who have gotten it are now saying they wished they didn’t and won’t get it again. We now know that they are recommending a third booster after 8 months, delta protection likely only lasts three months and we now know of many side effects that they didn’t know about when they first marketed the shot - myocarditis, pericarditis, GBS, neurological issues, clots. Why would fda approval make any difference at this point? Yesterday Israel reported that like 60percent of covid hospitalisations are now fully vaccinated people, that’s where we are headed but yea, yay fda approval! Let’s keep hanging our hopes on the vaccine! Mandate mandate mandate! Meanwhile as the vaccination rates go up so to the case numbers! Great plan!

It’s actually sad that anyone would care about approval of a shot that isn’t even stopping the virus ... create a safer and more effective vaccine, that will be cause for celebration!

Exactly! It's a full on clown show right now. It's funny how people want to follow the science until they don't want to follow the science.
Vaccinated are still getting and spreading COVID, Israel with its high vaccination rate is seeing an explosion of cases including vaccinated people getting sick and dying..but yeah FDA approval. FOH...make it make sense.

Yes and they aren’t just getting sick! It’s all over the news SIXTY percent of those hospitalized with Covid right now are fully vaccinated!!!! It’s a political shit show and we are all celebrating a vaccine’s approval that doesn’t even work! We should be demanding Pfizer work on improving the vaccine! Demanding better treatment options! Nope, mandate the vaccine that doesn’t work. It’s going so well for us now

Re: Pfizer Granted full FDA approval
Serious Question for those who still are unvaccinated:
How do you protect yourself and your family from Covid?
Since seeing the study posted about cloth and surgical masks not being very effective: 1. What type mask do you wear?
2.Under what circumstance? (Ex- any time in public, or only as required)
Or do you "hope for the best" based on things you've read?
I seriously just want to know your answers, not to debate it.

How are you protecting yourself in light of the recent science and research? Have you tested to see if you are still or were ever immune? Are you getting your third booster?? Or are you just hanging your hopes on a vaccine that has 60 percent hospitalisation rate in Israel? So many breakthrough cases the CDC stopped counting, research suggesting the vaccine doesn’t protect you from long term COVID? Fully vaccinated carry the same viral load and spread covid just as easily as uncaccinated. How are you protecting your family? What are you doing? Hoping for the best? Are you 3 months out from your vaccine? You likely don’t have much protection against delta anymore! Not trying to debate it, it’s a serious question I wonder as the vaccinated people I know walk around like there is no covid and we wonder why cases are surging and so many fully vaccinated are sick! Oh and newslash , the research hasn’t just shown masks aren’t that effective. It has shown the vaccines aren’t that effective either!

Doesn't this mean that employers and colleges can mandate it now? Suffolk community college has said that as soon as it is approve, the school will mandate it.

Yes among other things. Fda approval gives complete green light for mandates at a state level, and with private businesses. Those in favor of mandates will feel more empowered now that they have the stamp of approval from the fda and will continue adjusting measurements and making them stricter.
This approval do not surprise me one bit. I knew these vaccines would be approved quickly. We’ve talked about this time after time. It’s very convenient now before schools start, and when there’s so much resistance to all these mandates. But of course, it was categorized as yet another conspiracy theory.

I had Covid and it seems antibodies are working a lot better for me as I have not had a Covid a second time. Ex. My coworker who got the vaccine in June and now has Covid.

There will still be thousands who apply for religious and medical exemption. At my daughters college it was mandated and I cannot believe how many people applied for exemption. I am the admin of the Facebook group for parents so I can see how many people were approved for exemption.

If they’re doing it for religious or medical reasons then good for them. By law, those exemptions are supposed to be accepted and not “approved”. I hope all colleges and universities abide by the law, although I’m hearing a few were saying the religious exemptions would only be accepted til fda approval so now that they are, we’ll if they keep those exemptions or reject them. If that’s the case, I see a lot of lawsuits happening soon.

Yeah no answer- but I'll bite. I am vaccinated. I wear a mask. I limit unnecessary exposure, but I am not isolated. I hope for the best. And no I do not walk around like there is no covid. I feel like I am doing everything I did in the spring. I am fearful of Covid, for all the reasons you listed. I was "one of those" who walked around with masks on when I was 2 weeks out of last vaccination. So my question was one of a serious nature, because I am in awe of people who are not vaccinated and seriously wonder how you protect yourself, if you do.

Unfortunately, what so many (at least on here) seem to have forgotten is that masks are still required for the unvaccinated. We know that is not being followed by most, but that requirement was never lifted.

The same way we have protected ourselves from every other virus during our lifetime. Try to be as healthy as possible with lots of sunshine, fresh air, vitamins, exercise, eating right, good hygeine, and staying away from sick people. We wear masks only when absolutely required and never outside. You cannot fully protect yourself against getting a virus. We may get it. We may even have already had it. You may see this as stupidly “hoping for the best” but we have been fine, which is more than I can say for most people we know who took every possible precaution and got covid anyway.
