What confuses me is why people who are so pro-vaccine are doubling down now on something that is clearly not as effective as we were originally led to believe it would be. I'm not saying it's not effective at all, but there are so many break through cases and hospitalizations and we were led to believe that those would be minimal. I think what would have been a better course of action would be to have people get vaccinated AND keep up social distancing and mask protocols. Maybe the combination of the two would have helped to keep the numbers down. I think that the vaccine SEEMED like it was going to be much more effective but that's only because at the time of the trials people still wore masks, capacities were limited, testing was required for a lot of travel, etc etc. But instead of saying "oh man it stinks that it didn't work as well as we hoped, maybe we can try to improve it" they say "It's all the unvaccinated people's fault!!!!! Covid would be over if it weren't for them!!!" Even though more than half the world doesn't even have access to the vaccine.
This! People are so dead set in trying to prove they're right that they are ignoring the fact that the vaccine has not done what is was guaranteed to do. Vaccinated people are still getting AND spreading COVID, some are still ending up hospitalized and dying. In addition the guidance for someone who is vaxxed vs. unvaxxed is essentially the same mask up, test negative if you want to travel, go to events, etc.
Confidence in government authorities is pretty nill considering the fact that they continue to give out conflicting information. Combine that with the fact that you can't watch a show or listen to the radio without a COVID vaccine plug every 3 minutes, influencers paid to promote the vaccine, vaccine passports to eat out all for something that is not working the way it should? I mean does no one think that is weird?
Also there is a recent video circulating social media with an interview with the CDC and they clearly say that in Israel the vaccinated people seem to be getting sick at a higher rate then unvaccinated. I will try to find it and link it but it was all over social media.
Exactly just like I said, follow the money.

CLAIM: The newest Israeli data on COVID-19 infections indicate a complete vaccine failure on every level. The data from Israel shows that nearly all serious cases and deaths are among the vaccinated.
AP’S ASSESSMENT: Missing context. The claim ignores the fact that Israel has only a fraction of the COVID-19 cases that it had in January, before vaccines were widespread. Furthermore, the majority of adults in Israel are now vaccinated with two Pfizer shots. No vaccine is perfect at preventing breakthrough cases, but the data shows vaccines are reducing the number of people who are severely ill, hospitalized or die from the virus.
THE FACTS: Israel was one of the first countries to vaccinate a huge swath of its population against COVID-19. Health officials around the world have been watching to see how the country fares against COVID-19 variants and how effective the Pfizer vaccine works at protecting the population.
Misleading posts on social media are now twisting data from Israel to falsely claim the country’s vaccination program is a failure due to the number of breakthrough cases of COVID-19 among the vaccinated. Medical professionals say Israel’s vaccine program is making remarkable progress against the virus.
“The vaccination campaign was hugely effective,” Dr. William A Petri, professor of infectious diseases at the University of Virginia, said of Israel’s efforts. “It’s really extraordinary how well these vaccines work.”
Experts say the country’s high vaccination rates are keeping case numbers down and reducing hospitalization and deaths even as the delta variant is provoking an uptick in infections. Data from Johns Hopkins University shows Israel documented 1,118 new cases on July 21 -- which is less than a tenth of the 11,934 new cases the country had at its peak on Jan. 27, before vaccines were widespread. ...

Well it’s nit just social media spreading these lies then or having headlines that make people think Israel is having a huge surge:
NPR
And most things don’t say it’s a complete fail, but they do say that it is way less effective. Why does this board always need to go to extremes? Why can’t people just agree that it works pretty well but certainly not as well as they originally claimed?

Because people always have to be right even it means losing common sense, being illogical and wasting time arguing over semantics. I said Some not All, I never said there would never be a booster I said it was two dose vaccine and the list goes on and on and on.
Quite frankly the above quote isn’t the holy grail of truth. It’s been said and it’s a known fact the vaccine isn’t as effective as we thought it was going to be. More and more vaccinated people who have not had Covid are getting Covid and spreading it. That’s a fact. No one ask unvaccinated people if they had Covid, everyone is lumped together to skew the numbers and blame the people who are unvaccinated instead of looking at the problem with the vaccine. That’s a fact.

I wish they would separate the positive numbers into vaccinated and non-vaccinated. My youngest has to get vaccinated and while they know their only choice is online school, they are still worried. I feel bad for these kids who don’t want to do this and want a full education.

Pfizer Granted full FDA approval
So i just got off the phone with my sister and brother in law. They live in Alabama. They both got breakthrough covid along with some members of their church. And guess what vaccine they got...Pfizer. SMH
Luckily, no one is ill enough to head to the hospital but my sister and brother both feel like they have the flu.
So i guess this vaccine works to keep you out f the hospital (as they say) but it doesn't work well enough. And thats why people are so hesitant to get it. Lots more work to do scientists.

Exactly. Not everyone runs to the hospital too so many might be bad who are vaccinated and will stay home and let it run its course.

And chances are good that you won't be hospitalized with Covid even if you are NOT vaccinated. I know so many people who had it and it was mild. They recovered at home. So there's that too. I see no problem with saying, we need to improve this vaccine. Usually that is what long term clinical trials are for. But sadly this got FDA approved faster than any other vaccine, so there was no time for that.

I am sure many don’t even need to go to the hospital as how many people run to the doctor and ER for minor things every other day?

I totally agree. This vaccine is certainly not perfect and should not be viewed as such and forced on people who don’t want it right now. There a lot of kinks that need to be worked out and it’s really sad that it’s jammed down our throats that we NEED to get it now or else

It says it was approved over 16 and that the EUA is still in effect for ages 12-15.
Right. Approved for 16 and older. EUA for 12 to 15 and 3rd dose.
Approval letter to Pfizer
so after doing more reading and understanding of those two letters that the FDA put out. it seems like the one i posted is a letter stating that they reissued the EUA for the pfizer (currently the one out now).
The letter that you sent me seems to be the approval for the upcoming pfizer vax "comirnaty" which at this very moment doesn't exist.
So if you go and get pfizer right now today its still EUA.

Don’t know about that as colleges are now requiring it when they did not a few days ago. I think they would have to be 100% sure to do that.

Comirnaty is the trademarked name for the current Pfizer vaccine. It's not anything new, just a new name. The vaccine (whether you call it "the Pfizer vaccine" or "Comernity") for 16+ is fully FDA approved. The EUA is for 12-15 year olds.

That exactly right. The vials that are circulating right now do not have the licensed name on them so technically those no-name vials are not FDA approved, they just have an extended EUA. New Pfizer production of this vaccine will contain the product name (comirnaty ) and those vials will be the ones that have the fda approval.

I agree. I may be forced to get this from my job, even though it makes me mad, I can live with it. My biggest issue with all these mandates and pushing this vaccine is that I feel like the children are next. I have a huge problem with giving this to my son and forcing parents to give this to their children and young adults.
