Serious Question for those who still are unvaccinated:
How do you protect yourself and your family from Covid?
Since seeing the study posted about cloth and surgical masks not being very effective: 1. What type mask do you wear?
2.Under what circumstance? (Ex- any time in public, or only as required)
Or do you "hope for the best" based on things you've read?
I seriously just want to know your answers, not to debate it.
We live our life. I wear masks when required and don't where not required. I have worked closely with families and children since September with no issues. I've been in schools with children that are unmasked. I use common sense and good hygiene. I take vitamins and my zinc. and I am not afraid if I was then i wouldn't be diving a car each day or ride a horse or go to the beach. Life is dangerous in general.
As for the FDA approval how was it approved it did not go through appropriate channels so how does that make me feel safe???
I don’t understand how it got approved either. Still need two more years I thought?? It’s going to cause more distrust by not going through appropriate channels.
How convenient tho, right before school starts.

Doesn't this mean that employers and colleges can mandate it now? Suffolk community college has said that as soon as it is approve, the school will mandate it.
They will probably still make these kids wear masks after being forced to be vaccinated too.

So it is FDA approved for ages 16 and over, but they are giving the vaccine to kids as young as 12?

I'm going to be honest, FDA approval doesn't mean a whole heck of a lot to me.
Plenty of drugs that were pulled off the market for being harmful and that you see all the law firm commercials for now saying, "Did this drug cause you harm or death?" were FDA approved. Until they weren't.
Then why did so many antivaxxers hold onto FDA-approval as a milestone that THEN they will get vaxxed?

I don't know one anti vaxxer who held onto FDA approval as a milestone. Not one, and I know many anti-vaxxers. To them FDA approval doesn't mean anything. Actually, according to my friends in the medical community, FDA approval really means nothing for most pharmaceuticals.

My thoughts exactly. And many drugs have side effects and some come after years of use. So what will this one be?

I think that when most anti-vaxxers brought it up it was more a small point but not something that would prevent them. It was an example of how the vaccine is clearly still "new" because it hadn't even gotten FDA approval yet.

A true anti vaxer (someone against all vaccines) won’t care about FDA approval
But i have read plenty (who are only against this vaccine) in comments who say you want me to get something that’s not FDA approved. How can they mandate a vaccine that’s it FDA Approved.
Well now that it is FDA APPROVED those same people will now find another reason to say no which is fine. Though I am sure some may now be ok with the vaccine since it’s now FDA APPROVED.
Before anyone comes after me I am not singling anyone out this is just general observation I have made on several social media sites.

Perhaps that's because, as someone else mentioned here, the FDA receives a lot of it's budget from the pharmaceutical companies that it is regulating. For me that kind of ruins my trust in them

Re: Pfizer Granted full FDA approval
What confuses me is why people who are so pro-vaccine are doubling down now on something that is clearly not as effective as we were originally led to believe it would be. I'm not saying it's not effective at all, but there are so many break through cases and hospitalizations and we were led to believe that those would be minimal. I think what would have been a better course of action would be to have people get vaccinated AND keep up social distancing and mask protocols. Maybe the combination of the two would have helped to keep the numbers down. I think that the vaccine SEEMED like it was going to be much more effective but that's only because at the time of the trials people still wore masks, capacities were limited, testing was required for a lot of travel, etc etc. But instead of saying "oh man it stinks that it didn't work as well as we hoped, maybe we can try to improve it" they say "It's all the unvaccinated people's fault!!!!! Covid would be over if it weren't for them!!!" Even though more than half the world doesn't even have access to the vaccine.

Saying "How can you mandate something without FDA approval?" is very different than someone saying "I will not get it because it's not FDA approved." I got the vaccine, I am clearly not anti vaccine, but I don't believe in mandating anything until it is FDA approved even though I think that the FDA needs a major overhaul, it's the only thing we have right now and there needs to be some system of checks and balances in place.

I’m not hardcore one way or another but what’s the % of breakthrough cases versus those that are vaccinated. how high is it really. Same question with adverse effects??
Are the comparable to those getting deathly ill and dying from Covid?? If so then both sides for the vaccine and against vaccines should stop talking about numbers cause the numbers cause what does it matter. Each pose the same risks % wise it’s all about which risk you want to take. (Again I don’t know the numbers I’m just saying if the % are close enough)

You are correct. These people are not “anti-vaxers” in the traditional sense, they are vaccine hesitant. Vaccine hesitant people may be more likely to get the vaccine now that it is approved.

This point being the importance fda usually has for provaxers. So the question would be how a person, provaxer, be ok with so many arbitrary vaccine mandates, when this vaccine has not even be approved by an entity they fully trust like the fda.
I personally have never said, I or my family will get this vaccine once the fda approves it. There needs to be a lot done before I’d ever even consider this or any vaccine, things like cutting all ties between the government and its entities with pharmaceutical companies, when full liability it's given back to these companies, when they stop using toxic and compromising components in their vaccines, when doctors/nurses start receiving more education about anything that have to do with vaccines, when there’s actual ‘full informed consent’ where a parent hears not only the good but also the bad and the ugly about vaccines, etc, etc. There’s A LOT to lose for these companies and everyone that is involved with them in a lucrative way, so when all these issues get addressed, it’ll be a real miracle.

This! People are so dead set in trying to prove they're right that they are ignoring the fact that the vaccine has not done what is was guaranteed to do. Vaccinated people are still getting AND spreading COVID, some are still ending up hospitalized and dying. In addition the guidance for someone who is vaxxed vs. unvaxxed is essentially the same mask up, test negative if you want to travel, go to events, etc.
Confidence in government authorities is pretty nill considering the fact that they continue to give out conflicting information. Combine that with the fact that you can't watch a show or listen to the radio without a COVID vaccine plug every 3 minutes, influencers paid to promote the vaccine, vaccine passports to eat out all for something that is not working the way it should? I mean does no one think that is weird?
Also there is a recent video circulating social media with an interview with the CDC and they clearly say that in Israel the vaccinated people seem to be getting sick at a higher rate then unvaccinated. I will try to find it and link it but it was all over social media.
