PIO vs Suppositories
Thoughts? I am preparing for my frozen transfer and my doctor said Crinone is just as good as PIO. I really prefer the suppository, however I was told by my friend who has had successful transfers that her doctor disagrees.

PIO vs Suppositories
I used crinone during IUIs and Fresh IVFs. My RE likes PIO for FET. He said something about some study yielding slightly higher results and he something about results in his practice. I don't think it really makes a big difference but who knows. For my fresh cycle with a pos low beta I was on crinone and progesterone was fine. On my FET on PIO it was lower and had to be increased.

Re: PIO vs Suppositories
For some reason, SIRM prefers either Crinone. Dr. T told me he would probably go for that before PIO unless I had a real progesterone problem, which I don't.

Re: PIO vs Suppositories
PIO can be monitored better by blood while the Crinone gets absorbed immediately in the area. That's what Dr. T said. Both are acceptable.

Not sure what the difference is, but I prefer PIO over crinone.

Re: PIO vs Suppositories
I've never used PIO. Endometrin worked well for me and I didn't have to deal with sticking a harpoon in my butt every day

Pio PIO PIO PIO PIO. It doesn't hurt too bad. I've been on it almost a month and my tush no longer hurts. My p levels never got higher than an 8 without it. Now I'm in the 20-40 range. I will never look back.

Thank you! Do you feel its key to holding a pregnancy or implantation?

PIO vs Suppositories
For me it's been the key to both !!! I'm convinced my first two bfps couldn't last bc of low progesterone (and clotting). The crinone is ok but the dr can't monitor if you still need more, etc. I was on crinone the first two times and don't think it mattered - I was just too low.
PIO after o keeps your levels up

Uhhh 400 thats annoying! Didn't your RE originally suggest Crinone? What if they increase your dose of Crinone?

Re: PIO vs Suppositories
I would rather stick a 6 inch needle into my butt muscle than a suppository up the vajay. Just saying. I hate supps, used the generic progesterone and Crinone. They both leak and are just plain annoying and messy.

Why is PIO $400? Oop it's 29.99 a vial. That usually lasts ten days. Bescription pharmacy will give you needles and syringes with it. Kraupners will charge you more.

That's a lot. You should be able to get it cheaper! My progesterone was always better on PIO. I spotted on suppositories, they were uncomfortable and messy. I've done 3 IVF cycles - the two successful ones, I used PIO.
Good luck!
