Re: placenta accreta
Yikes. I have to be honest, the only accreta stories I have heard are a little upsetting, but since they have it diagnosed, they should be prepared and you should be fine. Did they find it on your sono?
Just curious -- have you had a C-section? I heard it is more common with a C-section.

Re: placenta accreta
Yes!!! I had it and they didn't know it until I delivered. I was having a c-section and when they tried to take my placenta out they saw it. Needless to say I started to hemorrage and from what they told me "I was touch and go there for awhile". The last thing I remember them telling me is that I may need an emergency hysterectomy. I didn't get the hysterectomy but it took awhile for me to be in the clear and I needed 2 blood transfusions among other things. It was a very, very scary experience and be so grateful they caught yours in time. They told me it only happens in 1% of first time deliveries. FM with any questions!!!
