Please help if you can...those who are familiar with C Section incision recovery.
I had my baby on July 28th and recently had my staples removed this past Friday (this is my second c section)
My first I had no problems with the incision and now it's a different story. Please help if you can I'm worried it's not healing right...
1. There is about 1 inch of a slit that is still bleeding. Is this normal?
2. The spots where the staples were placed are still red not bleeding but red. Normal?
3. My incision is not entirely flat there is about 3 inches of overlaped skin. It feels weird it's just like skin sticking out, not flat. Is this normal? This one really bothers me because with my first c section incision it was all flat.
Please share what you think, I'm freaking out

If it is bleeding, it is most likey infected. You should go to your OB ASAP. I really think they take out the staples too soon.
From what I have heard, the second C/Section takes longer to heal because you are cutting through scar tissue.
Good Luck!

Re: Please help if you can...those who are familiar with C Section incision recovery.
I would call your OB if you are bleeding or you have overlap it might not be closing correctly.
I had staples with my first and none of those issues. In fact they gave me stitches for my 2nd which they say they normally don't do but b.c the 1st healed so well that you can barely know it was there they said this would heal better than the other way. I DID have some minor bleeding when I walked for about 2 weeks - but I saw my OB for a 2 week BP check and he said it was just the skin rubbing on the knot of the stitches and it would disappear when it heals and the stitches are absorbed. I never had any further issues with mine.
If you have any questions or concerned don't hesitate to call your OB and have it looked at - better safe than sorry and end up with an infection or complications.

I would call your obgyn on the emergency line if they don't have weekend hours. I have not had staples so I am not sure about the second part of your question. As for the last part, a pp mentioned that the second scar can be bigger - however - if you are bleeding coupled with a big fold it could be swelling, infection or seperation of the scar andor tissue. Non of which are things to be played with KWIM? I hope you feel better soon and good luck!

I have to agree with everything everyone has said.
Call the OB immediately
When I was in the hospital recovering from my c/s is began turning red and I was immediately put on antibiotics for an infection and had to stay an extra night to keep and eye on it.
You don't want to mess with any kind of infection at that site.
Good luck and I hope it heals quickly for you

Re: Please help if you can...those who are familiar with C Section incision recovery.
I called my OB today and will see her tomorrow first thing. The bleeding stopped so hopefully its dry and healing well (will have her look to make sure)
I am interested to see what she says about the overlapped skin on my incision. I want to ask her if this happened because of how it was stapled or too much movement on my part. My gut feeling is it wasn't properly stapled there. I think I typed it was three inches long but after looking at it 100 times it's more like an inch. It's not like I flash that area around but if I could try to make it look better I will. Hopefully over time it will flatten. I guess I was just so happy with the way my 1st incision healed this one had some issues.

Red is normal but I dont think it should still be bleeding. Maybe oozing clear stuff, but not blood I dont think.
The incision not being flat, well mine wasnt and still isnt, 8 mths later.

I would call the OB immediately, that doesnt sound normal. I just had to call my OB today because i thought my incision was infected (had a c-section last monday) but everything is fine, just needed stronger pain meds. They gave me dissovable stitchs inside and some kind of glue on the outside that i was told to use vaseline around week 6 to get it off. No stitches or staples on the outside.
